The Wine Ambassador will authentically “walk the walk” with our culture, have curiosity for people, and will successfully generate long-term, repeated business from existing and new customers. The Wine Ambassador will be engaging and passionate about people, wine, hospitality, storytelling, and relationship-building.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide guests with an outstanding experience at both the consumer and trade level by conducting tastings and tours while listening to the needs of each guest.
• Maintain and exhibit a thorough knowledge of the Clark Ferrea wine portfolio and keep up to date on general wine knowledge.
• Ability to work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a high level of detail and hospitality.
• Educate guests with accurate information about the winery, its wines, history, and general farm
store offerings.
• Enter wine orders into Commerce7/POS.
• Utilize excellent customer service skills to increase wine sales and inform guests about
shipping options, upselling, sales promotions, or special offers.
• Introduce and promote wine club benefits and memberships to prospective customers while engaging a relationship model vs. transactional interactions.
• Assist existing members with pick-ups and orders, actively engaging them to build and
maintain relationships.
• Uphold all responsible beverage service standards, including verifying IDs and guest monitoring.
• Ability to work private events, public events, and club member events
• Take ownership of CRM processes; communicating with members via various capacities; writing, interacting face-to-face, and on the phone.
• Participate in daily opening and closing procedures, e.g., cleaning, restocking, opening wine stations, etc.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous food & service industry experience preferred
Certificates and Licenses:
• TIPS Certification or Certified within 90 days of employment:
• CA Food Handlers certification required
Qualifications:
• Excellent customer service skills and proven track record of relationship building
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions while under general supervision
and guidance
• Ability to contribute to a positive work atmosphere by communicating with guests, colleagues, and management
• Results and goal-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with computer proficiency
• Strong relationship-building competency
• Ability to work weekends
• Wine knowledgeable with the desire to learn more, accreditation a plus
• Must be 21 years of age
• Must occasionally lift 40 lbs.
Working Conditions:
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time
• Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
• Work in close quarters or confined spaces
