The Tasting Room Host serves as the first point of contact for guests visiting Balletto Vineyards and plays a critical role in creating a welcoming, organized, and memorable guest experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and guest flow, supporting the Tasting Room team, and ensuring every visitor receives warm, attentive hospitality from arrival through departure.
Guest Welcome & Check-In
•  Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival (within the first 15 seconds).
•  Verify reservations using Tock, eCellar, and other winery systems as needed.
•  Welcome walk-in guests and assist with seating availability and reservation inquiries.
•  Create a positive first impression that reflects Balletto Vineyards' hospitality standards.

Hospitality Coordination
•  Escort guests to their assigned table or tasting area and introduce them to their Tasting Room Associate.
•  Coordinate with Tasting Room Associates, Leads, and Managers to ensure smooth guest flow and efficient service.
•  Proactively assist guests while they await service by offering water, answering preliminary questions, and ensuring they feel welcomed and attended to.
•  Communicate guest needs, special requests, and VIP visits to the appropriate team members.

Flow & Table Management
•  Assist with seating assignments based on reservations, group size, guest preferences, and operational needs.
•  Support Associates with clearing, resetting, and preparing tables between guest visits.
•  Monitor tasting room activity and help maintain a smooth and organized guest experience during peak periods.

Brand Representation
•  Share basic information about Balletto Vineyards, winery history, vineyard practices, wines, and experiences.
•  Represent the Balletto brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and authenticity.


Sales & Promotion
•  Introduce guests to Wine Club membership opportunities, upcoming events, and winery offerings when appropriate.
•  Encourage guest engagement while supporting the overall goals of the Tasting Room team.

Environment Maintenance
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting host stand, entrance area, patio, and public guest spaces.
•  Assist in maintaining overall tasting room appearance and presentation standards.

Phone & Reservation Support
•  Answer incoming calls professionally and assist with reservations, general inquiries, and guest requests.
•  Contact guests as directed regarding reservation updates, special events, or important visit information.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
•  Must be at least 21 years of age.
•  Must possess or be able to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
•  1+ year(s) of previous hospitality, restaurant, retail, tourism, or customer service experience preferred.
•  Strong interpersonal, communication, and guest service skills.
•  Comfortable learning and utilizing reservation, POS, and customer management systems.
•  Self-starter, can-do positive attitude, strong attention to detail, willingness to champion working as part of a team, proactively flexible in situations where quick adjustments are needed.
•  Ability to remain calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
•  Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
•  Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the property while assisting guests and supporting operations.
