This is a rare opportunity to join the management team at one of Oregon’s most historic wineries! We are in search of a hospitality-driven professional to implement and maintain service and sales standards for guests visiting our winery tasting room in Newberg, Oregon. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Tasting Room team, with a focus on exceptional and educational experiences for each of our members and guests.

REPORTS TO: Director of Consumer Sales & Marketing

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership:
•  Manage the team which includes Tasting Room Lead, Wine Educators, Host, and Back of House positions
•  Managing the team’s performance on an ongoing basis, providing feedback and coaching in a timely manner. Provides opportunities for growth and development.
•  Development, implementation, and maintenance of service standards and staff trainings.
•  Making safety a priority and supporting a safety-first culture within the team.
•  Actively participate in skill development activities.

Routine operations:
•  Responsible for tasting room experiences. Develop rotating/seasonal tasting experiences and flights for our various tasting areas while working toward revenue, Club and inventory goals.
•  Lead the Tasting Room to achieve the highest level of service, sales and work as a cohesive team.
•  Manage day-to-day operations, which include, but are not limited to: hiring staff as needed, staff training and scheduling, managing customer service experiences, building our culinary program and managing reservations.
•  Responsible for exceptional tasting room appearance including maintaining equipment needs, decor and furniture.
•  Responsible for establishing and maintaining opening and closing procedures as well as monthly cash reconciliation and reporting.
•  Source and order supplies for the tasting room and tasting room experiences.
•  Payroll submissions on a biweekly basis (processing hourly tips, monthly sales commissions, club signups, and other payouts as necessary).
•  Create schedules for all Tasting Room staff taking care to reflect on/off-site experiences, events, business levels, holidays and requests off.
•  Responsible for staffing the tasting room according to forecasted business levels.
•  Demonstrates leadership through sound business decisions, accountability, values and brand.


Interdepartmental Responsibilities:
•  Working with the Marketing department to include ideation, materials, promotions, and special offerings.
•  Work with the Events Coordinator on planning, coordinating, and executing on-site events, open houses, and private events.
•  Work with the Executive team and Marketing to set and reach sales objectives and goals.
•  Along with the finance department, communicate performance of the tasting room and monthly sales to staff for both Direct to Consumer meetings and company operations meetings.
•  Management and oversight of operational departmental budget alongside the Director of Consumer Sales & Hospitality and Finance.
•  Collaborate with the Director of Consumer Sales & Hospitality, Marketing, and Club Manager to align all strategies, themes, and onsite experiences for guests and Club Members.

Job Qualifications:
•  At least 5 years in hospitality with 2+ years experience managing a team or tasting room
•  Incredible work ethic, well organized in a fast-paced environment, high attention to detail and positive attitude
•  Experience with Commerce7 or WineDirect as well as MS Office suite and TOCK
•  Demonstrated sales ability and leadership
•  Must be available to work weekends and holidays
•  Ability to lift and carry 40lbs, OLCC & OR Food Handler certified.
•  Must be 21 years of age or older
