Wine Shop Sales Associate Boutique Wine Shop & Bistro (Eugene, OR)
We're a family owned and operated, independent wine shop with an attached bistro in Eugene. Our space is warm, community focused, and built on genuine hospitality. We believe wine should feel approachable, personal, and fun whether someone is picking up a Tuesday bottle or shopping for a special occasion.
We're looking for a Sales Associate who brings curiosity, confidence, and a great attitude. Someone who loves connecting with people, enjoys talking about wine, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Customer Experience (the heart of the job)
Welcome guests and quickly understand what they're looking for
Make thoughtful, tailored wine recommendations across all knowledge levels
Build relationships with regulars and create a warm, approachable environment
Help guests feel confident and excited about their choices
Get to know our guests and wine club members and continue to enhance their experiences through great service, great wine, and events of all types
Wine & Product Knowledge
Learn our inventory and develop strong familiarity with producers, regions, and styles
Opportunities to meet and taste with distributors, winemakers, and vendors
Support in store tastings, producer events, and educational opportunities
Share insights on what customers respond to and be heard by buyers on what we should potentially bring in
Retail Operations
Keep the sales floor clean, organized, and visually appealing
Stock shelves, receive shipments, and maintain merchandising standards
Operate the POS system and handle transactions accurately
Assist with inventory, restocking, and special orders
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with both the FOH and BOH bistro teams
Willingness to help bistro in any capacity, including running food, pouring wine, guest interactions, washing and polishing service pieces and stemware
Communicate clearly with coworkers and management
Jump in wherever needed to support the flow of the day
Who You Are
Must Haves
Experience in wine, hospitality, retail, or sales
Genuine interest in wine and a desire to keep learning
Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking with customers
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Able to lift and carry 40 50 lbs (cases of wine) and stand for extended periods
What Makes You Great
Strong knowledge of global wine regions and varietals
Familiarity with Oregon wine, especially Willamette Valley
Ability to read people and adjust your approach naturally
Confidence guiding purchasing decisions without pretension
Organized, communicative, and team oriented
