Fun Estate Hosts needed at small family winery

Pestoni Family Winery

Rutherford, CA

Apply

Job Description:

We’re a small, 5th-generation, family-owned winery in the heart of Napa Valley, looking for someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people, sharing great wine, telling stories, and being part of a close-knit team.

This isn’t a corporate tasting room, it’s hands-on, personal, and collaborative. Everyone here plays a role in creating memorable guest experiences, whether that’s hosting tastings, driving sales, packing shipments, unloading pallets, or simply jumping in where needed. If you appreciate a relaxed but high-quality environment where guests feel like they’ve discovered a hidden gem, you’ll fit right in.

Our wines range from $35 to $160 and are all estate-grown in Rutherford and Howell Mountain. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with an impressive library collection dating back to the 1990's, something our guests (and team) truly love.

If you’re passionate about wine (or eager to learn), enjoy meaningful conversations, and take pride in creating a welcoming, memorable experience, we’d love to meet you. We’re a family operation at heart, and we believe great teamwork is what makes everything run smoothly.

We also believe wine sales shouldn’t feel scripted. While understanding the technical side of barrel regimens, blends, and vintage notes are important, what matters most is your ability to connect with guests, build trust, and confidently guide them toward wines they’ll truly enjoy.

***Our ideal candidate is available to work most, if not all, weekends. We would consider a full-time role for the right person who fits our team and vibe.

***Please indicate in your resume or cover letter whether you are seeking part-time or full-time work.

Responsibilities:

•  Create warm, engaging, and educational experiences for guests, sharing our wines, family history, and winemaking philosophy
•  Host seated tastings and provide thoughtful, personalized service
•  Build and maintain relationships with new and returning clients to support wine sales and club growth
•  Perform daily opening and closing procedures
•  Assist with restocking, packaging, shipping, and inventory management
•  Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming tasting and common areas
•  Accurately process orders, payments, and customer information using our CRM/POS systems

Qualifications & Skills:

•  Knowledge of (or strong interest in learning) winemaking, viticulture, and Napa Valley
•  Experience in a Napa Valley tasting room or wine sales environment preferred

•  Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer programs
•  Previous sales experience (wine or hospitality) is a plus
•  Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
•  Must be 21+ with a valid CA driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

•  Ability to stand for extended periods, indoors and outdoors
•  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
