Job Description:

We’re looking for a passionate, sales-driven, connector who values human-to-human experiences. Our team advocates for organic and regenerative farming, minimal intervention and natural winemaking, and we’re searching for a teammate with the ability to present these topics to customers in an educational yet approachable way with a sense of joy and play.

DARLING is a family owned and operated, small-but-mighty winery producing just 1,500 cases annually. By joining this team, you’ll be an integral part of the business and get a firsthand look at what it takes to operate a tasting room. You can expect to wear multiple hats while up-leveling your personal and professional skills.

Sales experience required. Schedule is one day per week: Sunday. Start date approximately March 29, reporting to the Director of Sales and Marketing.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

Preparing for Tasting Room guests including table settings, menus, wines, stemware, and email/phone communication

Welcoming and hosting guests throughout a personalized, seated wine tasting experience (about 60-75 min.)

Checking out guests and processing payments table-side in a seamless, easygoing way for a relaxed customer experience

Developing and nurturing long-term customer relationships that generate sales and Wine Club memberships through follow ups

Following the sales cycle all the way through fulfillment including shipping and delivery with appropriate communications

Maintaining the appearance, operations and cleanliness of the Tasting Room including: washing and polishing glassware, sweeping floors, sanitizing surfaces, stocking/organizing/tracking inventory, stocking paper towels, pens, computer paper, the cash register, and a dog water bowl for four-legged friends

Participating in offsite tastings, events, and team meetings, as requested by management

Engaging in outreach by building rapport within the community, our neighbors and preferred partners

Troubleshooting on-site operations including WiFi, printer, dishwashing machine, etc.

Additionally Qualifications and Skills:

Must be 21 years of age

Minimum 1-year experience in wine hospitality or sales

Must be self-driven and able to work effectively both on a team and independently

Must be sales oriented with the ability to read an audience and tailor the experience to fit a client's expectations

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and be comfortable standing and moving for long periods of time

Must be able to execute key functions of our computer systems proficiently — experience with Tock and Commerce7 a plus
