Job Title: Tasting Room Manager

Heringer Estates opened The Parliament Wine Lounge in Old Sacramento in the summer of 2025. We are looking for a Tasting Room Manager who is passionate about wine, leading teams, and driving an exceptional guest experience.

Purpose Statement: To sell our region, our brand and our products, while fostering authentic and genuine relationships with customers and communicating the excellence and uniqueness of the Heringer Estates brand at the Estate Tasting Room. This person needs to take an active role in continually creating an environment for employees that will promote and foster a positive relationship/experience to both public and trade visitors, responsible for generating and promoting volume and revenue sales associated with the tasting room, proper training of new staff, ensuring that proper tools are in place and communication occurs daily. Tasting room employees are ambassadors of the winery and are individually responsible for visitors' impressions of Heringer Estates Winery.

Reports to: General Manager

Tasting Room Leadership Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, and support a strong team-centered environment through calm, confidence, consistency, a positive attitude, excellent follow through, and attention to details.
Recruit, train, supervise, support, challenge, and manage a superior Tasting Room sales team, including performing all periodic and annual reviews, implementing discipline plans according to company policy and providing recommendations for advancement or dismissal as necessary.
Oversee all Tasting Room operations ensuring the highest level of accuracy, consistency, and innovation to support a flawless guest experience.
Develop and implement staff training programs to continuously improve processes.
Meet and exceed all revenue goals
Assist General Manager with staff incentives and methods for increasing sales and Wine Club sign-ups.
Create and maintain staff schedules to provide necessary sales support while adhering to the annual budget.
Run team meetings, provide timely updates on products and procedures to staff, and create and maintain on-going staff training schedule through coordination with other sales channels.
Assist in generating social media content to promote tasting room events.
Tasting Room Administrative Responsibilities:

Manage Tasting Room appearance, safety, and maintenance.
Ensure tasting notes, marketing materials, promotional signage, and displays are all up to date, accurate, appealing and engaging for guests.
Oversee food program. Make recommendations for pairings with an eye to budget, quality, and unique guest experience.
Ensure all Tasting Room team members are appropriately trained and certified as required to meet all relevant regulations pertaining to food handling and alcohol service.
Manage all retail and Tasting Room wine inventory and coordinate with General Manager for weekly, monthly and annual inventory counts and reconciliations.
Work with General Manager to provide feedback and information on Tasting Room trends, considerations and policies on an ongoing basis.
Generate reports and provide insight to staff and management team weekly.
Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date POS system information.
Other Responsibilities

Delegate and oversee Tasting Room promotions.
Plan, oversee, execute and attend Tasting Room events.
Work with General Manager to promote Tasting Room through marketing strategies through the support of all Social Media (SM), email and other marketing efforts.
Continue to grow as a professional through continued education, research and study, and interaction with other professionals and leaders.
Operate at all times with the utmost integrity and loyalty to the team.
Work Schedule:

Full time (hourly) 40 hours a week. Mostly Tuesday thru Saturdays (11:30am-7:30pm) and some Sundays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
