About the Position
We’re looking for a person with contagious enthusiasm to join our sales teams to contribute to the growth and development of Verve Wine as a company, and ultimately sell more wine. This role will require you to be flexible and dynamic; work well with others; thrive in guest/customer communications; think strategically about developing long-term customers; excel in a small, scrappy environment; and be passionate about great wine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities for this key holder position include all shop team responsibilities, floor and phone sales, processing web and app orders, reconciling daily accounts and the ability to lead and train others.
Sales Work
Drive sales on designated products and offers
Continuously develop a client list through high quality service at the shop, email correspondence, identifying new opportunities via online sales, events, tastings, dinners, etc
Use phone, email offers, tastings, and in-person meetings to drive sales to existing clients
Work with sales manager to develop strategies for selling fine/rare/allocated wines
Lead 2-4 client driven events a month. These may be at the store or off premise.
Coordinate purchasing efforts with the Leadership team and Shop Manager.
Continually look to source wines to build client’s collections.
Shop Work
Work with other shop team members to ensure that all customers receive exceptional service throughout their experience with Verve Wine
Provide wine recommendations and help customers choose the best wine for their personal taste, gift, or event
Make customers feel welcome and at home in our store
Act as a representative of our brand; help educate and excite others about our mission and values
Maintain the sales floor to keep high standards of cleanliness and organization
Receive and stock inventory when needed
Assist with local deliveries as needed
Assist with in-store events; setup/breakdown & service

Experience/Education
At least 2 years of experience in wine sales, either in a retail or restaurant setting
An existing book of business with annual sales exceeding $1,000,000.
Proficient in basic technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and other specific software (such as Shopify, Hubspot)
Open to working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to lift 50lbs (moving full cases of wine)

Salary commensurate with experience
Sales based commissions paid monthly
