The Fine Wine Specialist is responsible for leading the strategic growth, organization, and performance management of the fine wine portfolio within Winebow Imports across an assigned territory. The primary objective is to increase division case sale averages, strengthen premium mix, and expand fine wine distribution through structured, scalable initiatives.

This role blends strategic leadership, analytical discipline, creative thinking, and disciplined execution. Approximately 40% of time is spent in the market mentoring teams and supporting key placements. The Fine Wine Specialist reports directly to the VP of Portfolio Specialists and works in close partnership with the Regional Import VP within the territory to ensure strategic alignment and measurable performance outcomes.

Success in this role requires the ability to influence sales at scale through campaign development, compelling storytelling, strong organizational leadership, and clear cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Marketing-to bring strategic ideas to fruition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategic Growth & Portfolio Management
•  Drive fine wine sales growth and increase division average case sales across the assigned territory.
•  Identify opportunities to improve premium mix, distribution depth, and brand visibility.
•  Lead structured launches of new fine wine brands and SKUs, ensuring clear positioning and execution standards.
•  Develop and implement pre-sell programs, allocation strategies, and targeted high-end offerings.

Campaign Development & Analytical Oversight
•  Create and manage scalable sales initiatives designed to influence performance at a broader organizational level.
•  Apply out-of-the-box thinking to develop differentiated programming that captures trade attention and drives engagement.
•  Establish clear KPIs and performance benchmarks for each campaign.
•  Evaluate ROI, including sales lift, distribution expansion, margin contribution, and impact on case average.
•  Analyze depletion data, pricing trends, and inventory performance to refine strategy and maximize effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
•  Work in tandem with the Regional Import VP to align territorial strategy, priorities, and execution.
•  Provide strategic insight and performance visibility to the VP of Portfolio Specialists.
•  Clearly communicate campaign objectives, creative ideas, and portfolio narratives to the Marketing team to ensure concepts translate into effective tools, materials, and field-ready assets.
•  Maintain strong organizational alignment between Sales, Portfolio, and Marketing to ensure initiatives are executed consistently and effectively.

Key Account Development & Field Leadership (40%)
•  Develop, grow, and maintain strategic relationships with high-profile on- and off-premise accounts.
•  Protect premium positioning through disciplined pricing and allocation management.
•  Mentor and coach distributor sales teams in premium selling strategies, trade-up techniques, and storytelling.
•  Ensure accountability and consistent execution of initiatives in market.

Reporting & Organizational Discipline
•  Deliver structured monthly reporting to the VP of Portfolio Specialists.
•  Maintain dashboards tracking campaign performance and measurable outcomes.
•  Demonstrate strong organizational skills, project management discipline, and follow-through on deadlines and commitments.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

•  Follows all safety policies and procedures; communicate hazards and/or suggest improvements to Manager
•  Other duties as assigned

COMPUTER SKILLS:

•  Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
•  Diver Application.
•  Navision Application.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

•  3-5 years experience representing premium or fine wines as a distributor or supplier representative.
•  Strong understanding of wholesale market dynamics and fine wine segmentation.
•  Demonstrated ability to influence sales performance beyond individual account-level activity.
•  Proven experience creating, executing, and measuring structured sales initiatives.
•  Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess ROI and adjust strategy accordingly.
•  Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with compelling storytelling ability.
•  Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
•  Leadership presence with mentoring and accountability skills.
•  Clear and effective communicator across departments, particularly with Marketing.
