Part-Time Tasting Room Sales and Hospitality Associate
We are seeking a dynamic multi-tasker with strong sales, communication, and service skills to join our Direct-to-Consumer Sales Department. This position focuses on hospitality, customer service, and sales both in person and via concierge channels (phone, email, text). We are a growing department, and the right candidate will find opportunities to grow within our company. We want candidates of all different backgrounds to apply. Responsibilities:
Abiding to the Service Standards of Elk Cove: Greet all visitors, pour wines for tasting, discuss wines, convey information about the seasonal food menu, and convey the Elk Cove story.
Actively promote and sell wine and wine club memberships with daily sales and club goals assigned by TR manager.
Host a variety of customers including first-time visitors, club members, trade guests, tour groups and VIP guests.
Participate in on- and off-site events hosted by the winery on evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Prepare all food menu plates / boards for daily reservations.
Provide shipping support, including packing orders.
Participate in phone call/email/text campaigns and outreach.
Perform housekeeping duties to keep our Tasting Room and public areas organized and clean.
Restock merchandise and wine; regular movement of case boxes up to 60 pounds.
Participate in regular staff education and team meetings, occasionally off-site.
Job Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age
Outstanding customer service skills and strong sense of sales and hospitality
Food and beverage service experience preferred. Formal wine education certification (CMS, WSET) is a plus but not required.
Enthusiasm for wine and interest in expanding wine knowledge
Enjoy being a part of a team, assisting each other through service set up and breakdown.
Able to take initiative and adjust to an ever-changing work environment. Be able to use your role as a service leader to make sensible decisions for the sake of the service of our guests, meeting them where they are.
Comfortable connecting with customers over the phone, having an engaging tone of voice, and being able to respond to requests as needed.
Able to obtain an OLCC pouring license and Oregon food handler’s card prior to start of employment. Digital copies must be sent to TR manager upon hiring date.
Able to lift and move 50 pounds repeatedly
Able to stand, bend, kneel, and be on the go throughout the day
Proficient on iPad, laptop computer
Commerce 7, TOCK or comparable POS experience a plus

Hourly, approx. 25-35 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays.
Competitive hourly wage based on experience, plus tips and monthly commissions. 50% off on wines and additional wine perks.
