Position Summary

The Bar Back at Buena Vista Winery plays a key support role in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. This position ensures all guest-facing areas are clean, stocked, organized, and service-ready for daily tastings, tours, wine club activities, and special events.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, safety-conscious, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Hospitality Support
•  Prepare tasting room and outdoor guest areas for daily service and special events
•  Clean, polish, and stock glassware and bar supplies
•  Maintain attractive wine and retail displays; restock merchandise regularly
•  Greet guests warmly and provide courteous, attentive customer service
•  Support tasting room, hospitality, and events teams during tours and large group experiences
•  Assist with wine club activities, consumer tastings, and on-site/off-site events

Facility & Sanitation Maintenance
•  Maintain clean floors and remove debris, cardboard, and recycling throughout shifts
•  Clean and organize dry storage areas
•  Maintain outdoor furniture and cabanas, removing and cleaning covers daily
•  Follow proper sanitation and food safety practices
•  Maintain a clean and well-sanitized property, including indoor and outdoor areas
•  Immediately address spills and safety hazards

Inventory & Operational Support
•  Assist with monthly inventory counts
•  Maintain cleaning supplies and communicate restocking needs to management
•  Assist with packing and shipping wine orders and POS orders
•  Support managers with special projects and operational tasks
•  Follow company procedures, memos, and call-out policies

•  Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs
•  Commitment to outstanding customer service
•  Knowledge of or willingness to learn hospitality and sanitation standards

Physical Requirements
•  Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
•  Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
•  Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
•  Able to work in moderate noise environments

Schedule Requirements
