JOHAN VINEYARDS, Hospitality Manager
Our 175-acre property is a Demeter-certified Biodynamic vineyard and winery in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA within the greater Willamette Valley. With a commitment to regenerative farming practices, we showcase our terroir through a diverse range of varieties from Austria, Northern Italy, and classic cool-climate French varieties. We are looking to grow our small team at Johan Vineyards with the addition of a dynamic and passionate Hospitality Manager. As a key member of our team, this individual will communicate our holistic farming and winemaking philosophies while guiding visitors through tasting experiences that highlight the interconnectedness of our ecosystem.
Interested applicants should have a passion for the world of wine and be eager to develop their knowledge and push the forefront of regenerative winegrowing. Our Hospitality Manager will manage all aspects of the tasting room and wine club while ensuring seamless guest experiences while always upholding the highest level of hospitality. This position requires flexibility, strategic planning, organizational development, and strong front-of-house experience with excellent leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide a consistent, high-level of hospitality throughout every step of guest experiences. This includes leading tasting experiences on the farm, promptly responding to guest communications, and conducting consumer and VIP tours.
• Manage daily business functions including opening and closing procedures, Commerce 7 POS/wine club software (monthly inventory/depletion and sales metrics reports), Tock booking system, and TR supplies ordering.
• Cultivate a thriving club member community by fostering meaningful connections and delivering exceptional hospitality that inspires loyalty and growth.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute wine club allocations, pick up party events, and ensure a cohesive experience for our members (while visiting and at home).
• Manage the monthly budget and achieve sales goals. Assist in setting annual DTC budget based on history, projected sales, and projected expenses, and participate in annual and quarterly budget reviews.
• Work collaboratively to develop direct-to-consumer email strategies and update print materials as needed - ie: wine club forms, tasting room flight sheets, and club collateral marketing materials.
• Oversee shipping and fulfillment of all processed orders, including end-to-end order tracking and communication, managing onsite inventories, samples and weekly wine order, as well as inventories at offsite shipping fulfillment house.
• Establish an atmosphere of teamwork and team culture for positive employee relations - schedule and conduct regular staff meetings, tastings, and other events to enhance communication, learning and teamwork.
• Maintain and grow a network with local lodging establishments, restaurants, and visitor bureaus to increase visitor traffic to winery.
• Develop and implement plans to grow the DTC program through new tasting experiences and alternative tasting spaces around the property, implement new offerings, and support/train staff accordingly.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least two years of tasting room experience at a premium winery, hospitality management preferred.
• Excellent communication skills - verbal & written - with the ability to inspire and educate others about the importance of Biodynamic and regenerative winegrowing practices.
• Ability to work with and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of detail, customer service and cleanliness of guest frequented spaces.
• Strong organization abilities and attention to detail, with a knack for finding creative solutions to challenges.
• Proficiency in C7, Tock, Google suite, Canva, Mailchimp and ShipCompliant are a plus
• Must be 21 years of age or older, have OLCC and food handler’s licenses, and able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

This is a full-time, salaried position, reporting to the General Manager. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules; some evenings may be required.
