Boisset is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Wholesale Operations Manager to lead and optimize our wholesale distribution operations. This role serves as the operational backbone of our sales organization, ensuring seamless product flow from warehouse to distributor while maintaining pricing integrity, compliance, and inventory accuracy.
The ideal candidate brings strong wine industry experience, ERP proficiency, and advanced analytical skills. This is a high-impact leadership role with a clear and accelerated path to Wholesale Operations Director for exceptional performers.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Portfolio Management
• Maintain and distribute master pricing schedules across all territories to protect margins and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Manage promotional programming including SPAs, depletion allowances, seasonal incentives, and quantity discounts.
• Lead wholesaler item setup and onboarding, ensuring accurate integration of UPCs, product data, compliance documentation, and brand assets.
Order Fulfillment & ERP Operations
• Partner with the Order Management team to ensure 100% accuracy in order processing, fulfillment, and invoicing.
• Oversee ERP customer setup, including tax documentation, credit terms, and compliance verification.
• Manage third-party warehouse (3PL) and logistics partners to optimize shipping routes, inventory control, and storage costs.
Financial Oversight & Compliance
• Audit and approve distributor bill-backs (depletion allowances, samples, marketing splits) to ensure budget alignment.
• Collaborate with Compliance to ensure brand registrations and state price filings are active prior to market entry.
• Support financial planning initiatives through accurate reporting and operational controls.
Sales Operations & Data Management
• Partner with Sales to develop strategic target account lists and support chain account RFP responses.
• Manage relationships with wholesale data providers (VIP, IRI, etc.) to ensure data accuracy and reporting reliability.
• Develop and maintain sales dashboards tracking depletions, inventory velocity, account penetration, and performance KPIs.
• Oversee sample program logistics and budgets to support field sales without excess inventory loss.
• Maintain digital trade asset portal (tech sheets, bottle shots, accolades, pricing).
• Coordinate vintage transitions to prevent stock gaps and outdated inventory.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
• Serve as liaison to FP&A to align sales execution with financial planning.
• Provide executive-level market intelligence based on depletion trends and field insights.
• Support supply and demand planning decisions with Production and Senior Leadership.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience in wine industry operations, distribution, wholesale management, or sales operations.
• Strong understanding of wine distribution, compliance, logistics, and inventory management.
• Advanced Excel skills with ability to analyze large data sets.
• Experience with ERP systems (Business Central, NetSuite, or similar).
Preferred
• Experience with wholesale data tools (VIP, IRI, Nielsen, etc.).
• Background in financial reporting, KPI dashboard development, or supply chain planning.
• Experience managing 3PL providers and warehouse operations.
Physical Requirements
• Primarily administrative work with light physical activity.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Visual and auditory capability for office and phone communication.
Schedule & Travel
• Monday-Friday business schedule.
• Occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
• Limited overnight travel to Boisset properties.
