Retail wine guide needed! Full time OR part time available.
Wine Dad's is a fun and friendly 'neighborhood' store.....we sell plenty of popular favorites. BUT....we're also the place where Sommeliers come to shop. Why? Because we have a superb collection of some of the best names in winemaking, the up-and-comers, the small producers with superlative quality, the tastiest and best we can find, unusual varieties and regions, natural, orange, as well as a deep selection of craft and local in beer and spirits.
We like to say that Wine Dad's is a 'neighborhood store' first, as we carry some popular brands. But.... we curate deep selections in wine and craft spirits from some of the best portfolios that being in the New York market brings. It's like we're a boutique wine shop cleverly disguised as a liquor store.
We succeed because we have one goal for every customer that walks in: help them find something that they will love! Simple. But this strategy needs one thing: wine-knowledgable people to ask the right questions and make great recommendations.
If you LOVE this aspect of wine, come talk to us. Having some pertinent wine knowledge is a must, but it doesn't have to include formal certifications (though that would be ideal). A solid basis of wine IS needed, and experience in retailing or on-premise is helpful, too.
We're about to open our THIRD store (nearby in Jersey City) -- growing despite the tough market trends, and that's no accident. There's the usual rundown of retail duties involved: stocking shelves a little, supervising the daily workflow, assisting our managers, hopping on a register if needed. But t Wine Dad's we're all about connecting with our customers and helping them make great selections, with the help of AHI (actual human intelligence! There's no tech replacement for the person who actually has tried that wine!)
