Title: DeLoach Estate Manager of Hospitality

Classification: Full-time, exempt

Location: Sonoma, CA

Reports to: SVP of Guest Experience and Master of Wine

Position Summary:
The DeLoach Estate Manager of Hospitality coordinates all aspects of the DeLoach Estate, including the Tasting Room, events, and overall property management as it relates to Hospitality. This role manages the Tasting Room, Guest House, Kitchen Memories, and Events teams while maintaining excellent customer service, consistent staffing, and maximum profitability. The manager also focuses on strategic partnerships, business development, and relationship management, particularly with Boisset sister and other neighboring properties. As DeLoach is located on a larger estate, this role is responsible for working with internal team members and contractors to ensure the upkeep and preservation of the guest-facing areas. This role includes an opportunity for bonus outside of the stated range.



Essential Functions:

Tasting Room Management:

•  Provide an unparalleled guest experience for each visitor to this key Sonoma location within the Boisset Collection portfolio.
•  Maintain comprehensive knowledge of DeLoach Winery, the Boisset Collection, Kitchen Memories, and the greater Sonoma Valley. Work closely with Marketing to educate staff so winery stories and wine knowledge can be effectively shared with guests.
•  Supervise and perform hospitality functions, including greeting visitors, providing tastings and wine education, conducting consumer and VIP tours, and supporting staff in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
•  Coordinate trade, wine club, large group, and other visits with department managers to ensure high-quality service and accommodations.
•  Coordinate use of Guest House to ensure high-quality service, welcoming of guests, and standards of accommodation.
•  Provide high-level hospitality services to both trade and consumers, offering one-on-one tasting experiences and personalized attention tailored to each group's needs.
•  Coordinate correspondence with the personal VIP guests of Jean-Charles Boisset.
•  Develop and maintain networking programs with local lodging establishments, restaurants, visitor bureaus, chambers of commerce, and similar organizations to increase winery visitation.
•  Coordinate placement of print and digital advertising in appropriate publications, websites, and hotel guidebooks.
•  Maintain open communication with all Tasting Room staff regarding winery policies, goals, safety procedures, and events. Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings, tastings, seminars, and training sessions to enhance communication and teamwork.
•  Develop staffing schedules to ensure the Tasting Room is adequately staffed at all times and communicate schedules via bulletin board postings and email.
•  Manage and maintain accurate time and attendance records in the Paycor system and ensure the team takes all required meal and rest breaks with timely approvals.
•  Work closely with Human Resources to recruit, hire, discipline, and terminate hospitality staff as needed. This includes approving job postings, conducting interviews, following disciplinary procedures, managing workers' compensation claims, and providing coaching or training as required.
•  Maintain adequate inventory levels of wine and gift items. Monitor sales and adjust strategies using discount programs, new release notices, promotions, and other effective sales tools.
•  Coordinate financial aspects of the Tasting Room, including opening and closing daily tills, preparing weekly bank deposits, reconciling deposits with register totals, maintaining adequate cash reserves, and resolving cash discrepancies.
•  Assist in setting the annual Tasting Room budget based on historical data, projected sales, and anticipated expenses, and participate in mid-year budget reviews.
•  Run monthly sales reports using point-of-sale data and software and submit reports in a timely manner to the Accounting and Finance teams.



Estate Management:

•  Review monthly Tasting Room income statements and make necessary adjustments to meet sales goals and remain within budget projections.
•  Partner with contractors, service providers, and internal teams across the Boisset Collection to ensure the upkeep, maintenance, and preservation of the property.
•  Manage the events team and support large-scale events and private functions hosted on the property or associated with the brand.
•  Serve as the on-site leader for all capital expenditure projects and oversee the development and implementation of new guest experiences.
•  Lead business development initiatives with the support of Marketing and senior leadership to create strategic partnerships that drive visitation.
•  Ensure all compliance and safety requirements are met for the property, proactively partnering with internal departments as needed.

Additional Functions
•  Comply with all company safety policies, practices, and procedures. Participate in safety training and report unsafe conditions or work practices.
•  Contribute to team efforts and perform additional duties as assigned.
