Position Overview:
As an Estate Sales Ambassador, you will represent Martin Estate’s winery and brand, responsible for engaging with customers and sharing the unique qualities of our limited-production wines. This role involves hosting tastings, conducting direct sales to consumers, and building lasting relationships with our clientele. This role is responsible for instilling a deep appreciation for our estate, brand, and wines while promoting membership offerings. Estate Ambassadors will implement our unique approach to luxury hospitality by utilizing relationship-based sales strategies. Success in this role is measured by the effectiveness and frequency with which the ambassador enhances guest experiences and drives membership and sales conversions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Host Private Wine Tastings: Lead engaging and informative wine tastings for guests, highlighting Martin Estate wines and their unique characteristics. Create a memorable experience that encourages purchases and fosters brand loyalty.
- Direct Sales: Actively promote and sell our wines to consumers during tastings and events.
- Customer Engagement: Build relationships with guests, listen to their preferences, and provide personalized recommendations. Educate customers about Martin Estate’s wine production process, varietals, and the history of the winery.
- Inventory Management and Logistics: Assist with maintaining inventory levels, managing stock for tastings and events, and ensuring a well-organized tasting room experience.
- Team Player: There is always something exciting going on that we get to do as a small team. You are a team player, willing to do what is needed whether it is events, packing wine, logistics, and more. You are willing to take direction, be coachable, and proactive.
- Networking and Outreach: Stay connected with prominent Napa Valley Concierges throughout the Valley's fine Hotels, Resorts, and Transportation companies.
- Event Participation: Assist with planning and executing winery events, including special tastings and private events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Educate yourself on Martin Estate wines and history.
- Take ownership of entire guest experience.
- Build and maintain relationships, grow client roster, and cultivate Martin Estate enthusiasts.
- Convert guests into Members.
- Convert visits into sales.
- Possess a high-level of integrity and transparency with regards to all sales transactions.
- Accountable for tracking wine and retail inventory.
- Perform daily and monthly estate cleaning and side-work duties.
- Maintain a professional and positive appearance/demeanor at all times.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Passion for wine and knowledge of winemaking processes, particularly regarding limited-production offerings and luxury sales.
- 2-4 years of college/university education or equivalent.
- 2+ years in a luxury hospitality or sales setting, e.g., winery, restaurant, hotel, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the brand.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS/CRM systems.
- Must be willing and available to work most weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Possess a team-oriented mentality when it comes to shared duties, sales goals, and objectives.
- Possess initiative and drive, a willingness to rise to the occasion. Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and adherence to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be over 21 years of age.
Physical & Mental Requirements:
- Full body mobility: This is an active job where you will be expected to walk in different terrains (indoor/outdoor), stand, kneel, lift, etc. for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional communication skills: Proficiency in verbal, written, and body language communication is essential. Candidates must present themselves in a professional manner and have the ability to read, write, and speak in English at a college level.
- High-demand work environment: This role requires sustained focus, awareness, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
