About the Role:
The Southern California market manager is an important part of our West Coast Expansion. The individual will expand distribution and sales of Tri-Vin’s portfolio in Southern California, working closely with distributor sales teams to add distribution, drive depletion growth, and execute effective merchandising and promotional programs across on-premise, independent off-premise, and convenience accounts.
Success in this role will be measured by overall growth in distribution and volume across Tri-Vin’s portfolio in on-premise, convenience, and independent off-premise accounts:
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Account Management
• Identify, target, and sell to key on- and independent off-premise accounts, both independently and alongside distributor personnel
• Own and manage relationships within the top 100 independent retail accounts in the territory
• Maintain and grow existing accounts by increasing distribution, displays, and promotional activity
• Analyze distribution gaps, underperformance, and successes across channels to drive strategic growth
Distributor Collaboration & Market Execution
• Conduct regular collaborative market work with distributor teams, including:
o Ride-withs
o Market surveys
o Sales blitzes
o Tastings and demonstrations
• Provide product education and training to restaurant staff, retail teams, and distributor sales forces
• Communicate current programs, incentives, and goals to distributor partners through consistent correspondence, including:
o Monthly execution recaps
o Pricing or placement correction requests
o Event and meeting schedules
o Competitive activity insights
o Vintage scores and ratings
o Current POS for merchandising programs
Planning, Reporting & Administration
• Communicate all related business activity to supervisor, including:
o CRM reporting
o Monthly planning calendars
o Target account development strategies
o Identification of problem areas and opportunities
• Adhere strictly to assigned budgets and expense guidelines
Qualifications:
• Must reside in Los Angeles or Northern Orange County
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as an alcohol distributor salesperson in Southern California (required)
• Proven ability to build trust, loyalty, and credibility with distributor partners, accounts, and internal colleagues
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, VIP iDIG, and Karma CRM
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving and criminal record
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends for appointments and events
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
