Position Purpose

Acting on own initiative, this position oversees all aspects of maintenance for the Manteca bottling operations. Responsibilities include leading a team that provides 24/7 coverage, ensuring equipment and infrastructure are well maintained, championing continuous improvement initiatives, and providing strong organizational leadership. The role is also accountable for both short- and long-term equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall performance. Additional key responsibilities include ensuring facility and infrastructure reliability, fostering collaboration, and maintaining proactive communication between bottling, bottling maintenance, and other relevant departments and stakeholders.

Functional Responsibility

•  Manages and monitors day-to-day operations and team performance to ensure smooth workflows and that company standards are met
•  Manages company culture and holds self, peers, and direct reports accountable for demonstrating a constructive company culture through influential, personal behavior and actions; encourages strong work ethic and fosters an environment of trust and respect
•  Develops and aligns individual goals with the department's operational goals; ensures that decisions, actions, and priorities are aligned with the company's vision, mission, and strategies
•  Researches best practices, stays abreast of industry trends, and maintains awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations
•  Assists in preparing the departmental budget, monitors spending, and directs team in cost-effective operations to ensure adherence to financial objectives
•  Monitors performance and regularly communicates with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
•  Partners with immediate manager to determine staffing needs; attracts, motivates, and retains a workforce with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve goals and objectives
•  Provides employees with a safe, healthy, and rewarding work environment; ensures delivery and completion of monthly safety topics
•  Communicates and supports change initiatives and decisions in an effective manner to successfully guide team through change
•  Fosters a work environment that encourages creative thinking, promotes flexibility, and drives innovation
•  Addresses employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner; notifies HR Business Partner and keeps immediate manager informed as appropriate
•  Ensures compliance and consistent application of company policies, initiatives, and decisions
•  Coaches, guides, and develops direct reports; fully engages in the GPS (Performance Management) process; provides high-quality feedback, and ensures proper GPS documentation of employee performance, recognition, and deficiencies

Essential Duties

•  Plans and executes all preventative and reactive bottling maintenance and production-area sanitation, ensuring compliance with quality, productivity, capacity, customer, regulatory, and budget standards
•  Ensures team is in place, trained and performing at optimal levels in order to deliver daily bottling production requirements/standards and other essential deliverables
•  Interact with vendors to utilize technology, purchase/repair/replacement equipment and services and resolve equipment, training, and process issues
•  Owns all maintenance and sanitation Key Performance Indicators (KIP's) and displays active actions to improve results
•  Regular updates with Bottling Leadership Team to review Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE's) are meeting target; leads maintenance team through downtime discussions and resolutions brainstorming
•  Champions clear communication among teams, peers and across departments to ensure unified direction, efficient process execution, cross functional collaboration and overall productivity/effectiveness
•  Supports and/or designs/initiates capital expenditure requests based on improving equipment and process performance, increasing efficiency and/or lowering operating costs
•  Executes continuous improvement collaboration and champions initiatives that improve bottling processes, equipment performance, production capacity, package quality and related measures
•  Participates in Project Management and execution, partnering with other departments, especially; EH & amp;S, Engineering, Controls, Microbiology, and Audit Compliance
•  Enforces Safety, HACCP, ISO, cGMP, DOE, FSSC and other applicable business critical standards
•  Actively participates in vendor selection process
•  Manages inventory controls of all parts, machinery, and supplies
•  Initiates weekly scheduling discussions to ensure efficient maintenance planning and scheduling
•  Maintains a high standard of housekeeping in the bottling maintenance and production areas utilizing the 5S Tool's tools
•  Supports material testing processes for new product development initiatives

Non-Essential Duties

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

•  Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, food science or related field
•  5+ years in bottling or high-speed packaging
•  Requires in-depth experience in a high paced Lean production environment
•  3+ years direct leadership and management in food/beverage manufacturing

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•  Project management experience
•  Computer literacy in a Microsoft environment (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, AutoCAD)
•  Phone, cell phone, forklift and bottling equipment knowledge
•  Understands process controllers, industrial electric requirements, mechanical repair, and fabrication
•  Experience with computerized maintenance management systems and production equipment controls

Certificates and Licenses

•  Acceptable driving history with valid Driver's License
