On a Saturday at Overshine, the pours are on point, the in-house DJ is on the turntable from noon to three, and the conversation can go from catching up with your bestie to a full singalong with whatever record just dropped. We are a Sonoma County winery built around California wine done with intention, and a tasting room that sounds like D'Angelo, De La Soul, and Tower of Power among some other soul, r&b, and hip hop faves.
We are not looking for someone who wants to teach wine the way it has always been taught. We are looking for someone who loves wine and talks about it the same way they talk about a great record or a perfect meal. Your job is to make every person who walks in feel like they belong there. Whether they know every vintage on the list or have never been to a tasting room before, they should leave wanting to come back and already texting someone about what they just tasted.
What you’ll do
- Host tastings your way. Read the room, follow the energy, make it feel like the best part of someone's weekend.
- Move bottles and sign up members because you genuinely sold the experience, not because you ran through a list.
- Keep the floor tight between guests. Sidework done, space dialed, no one has to ask twice.
- Catch content when it happens: a great pour, a good moment, a guest who can't stop smiling. Phone out, get the shot.
- Show up for events and help make them feel as good as a great Saturday shift.
Who fits here
- You are knowledgable and/or curious about wine but not precious about it. You want to keep learning and you are not afraid to say you don't know yet.
- Wine certifications are a plus, but not a requirement.
- You notice when the energy dips and you do something about it.
- You do not need to be managed into doing your sidework.
- You are comfortable with POS systems and basic digital tools including Google Workspace. Experience with Commerce7 or a wine DTC platform is a plus.
- Saturday AND Sunday availability is required. Weekdays and events are part of the mix. This is not a seasonal position.
- Must be 21+ and able to lift 40 lbs.
What you get
- $25 to $30/hr depending on experience, plus tips, club membership bonus, and sales commission.
- Hands-on wine training focused on distinctive varietals and sustainable farming.
- A small team where your perspective actually influences how we do things.
- Employee wine discount.
If you have worked in specialty food, coffee, hospitality, retail, or any environment where you had to earn trust and educate at the same time, we want to hear from you.
