Job Title: Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Assistant Manager
Reports To: Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager
Location: On site at 2910 Limestone Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446
Overtime Status: Non-Exempt
Hours: Sunday - Thursday | 9:30 am to 5:30 pm;+ events as needed
Compensation: $24 -$26/hour, Wine club sign-up bonuses, Share in Team Commissions (based on floor hours worked)

Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Assistant Manager is to assist the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager with oversight of the daily activities of the Tasting Room and Vineyard Departments, including covering Tasting Room staff lunches, assisting with opening and closing duties, providing support in the Tasting Room when additional coverage is required, covering host shifts in the vineyard and Tasting Room (as needed), attending winery and vineyard events, as well as handling various administrative tasks. This position will also be responsible for working scheduled Tasting Room floor shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities:
-Provide Exceptional Guest Experiences in the Tin City Tasting Room: Welcome all guests warmly, deliver knowledgeable and engaging experiences, and ensure each visitor has a memorable visit that reflects the ONX brand and values.
-Drive Wine Sales: Promote and sell wine through personalized recommendations and upselling techniques to achieve daily sales goals.
-Collective Club Membership: Educate guests about wine allocation benefits and actively convert visitors into loyal members; assist with onboarding and retention efforts.
-Storytelling & Brand Representation: Share the winery’s story, vineyard practices, and winemaking philosophy in an authentic and compelling way that builds guest connection.
-Hospitality Excellence: maintain a clean, organized, and inviting Tasting Room environment; responsible for setup and breakdown of daily operations in the Tasting Room.
-Assist in the oversight and execution of all Tasting Room and vineyard experiences in the absence of the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager. This includes Tasting Room visits, CELLAR’D elevated tastings, vineyard picnics, Kiler Canyon tours, vineyard tours, etc. The incumbent will also personally host all of the above as scheduling requires.
-Host VIP guests/clients as assigned.
-Support the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager with ensuring tasks are completed, policies are upheld, breaks are followed, and overtime is minimized.
-Assist Tasting Room staff with guest challenges, including but not limited to order questions, special requests, intoxicated patrons, appointment scheduling, etc.
-Collaborate with the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager and assist in hiring, onboarding, and training of new Tasting Room staff members on experiences, products, protocols, and the history and story of ONX.
-Ensure all opening and closing duties are fulfilled, and oversee daily accounting tasks such as counting the cash drawer, running necessary reports, and delivering bank deposits.
-Provide feedback to the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager about ONX procedures and experiences, and suggest potential updates.
-Contribute to ongoing SOP development for staff training and hospitality procedures.
-Serve as the lead Manager in the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager’s absence.

Specific daily/weekly/monthly responsibilities include:
-Complete monthly office supply orders and as-needed supply orders; coordinate with all departments for supply needs and Controller for approval.
-Track and gather donation requests for the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager to present to the Hospitality Committee and others for approval.
-Order charcuterie boxes and other small bites as needed for the Tasting Room.
-Own the ordering of carry-out boxes, tissue paper, bags, etc. for the Tasting Room.
-Coordinate team tastings with other Tasting Rooms.
-Conduct inventory management across three locations, which includes facilitating weekly wine orders and deliveries, auditing wine orders and vineyard transfers in the inventory system (Commerce 7). Oversee new product setup in WineDirect.
-Assist with the schedule and time card approval in the absence of the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager.
-Assist the Tasting Room & Vineyard Experiences Manager with creating each year’s business plan and budget, and tracking progress throughout the year.

Required Experience, Education, & Skills:
-We seek a passionate, enthusiastic individual who possesses the heart of hospitality, committed to creating exceptional guest experiences.
-Must have 3+ years of Wine Industry Experience, including supervisory experience.
-Wine Knowledge: WSET, CMS or CSW preferred.
-Positive Attitude: Maintain enthusiasm, focus, and a positive outlook in all interactions
-Commitment to team building and fostering a healthy work environment
-Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for customer interactions and team coordination.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
-Must be able to work holidays, holiday weekends, and events (as scheduled in advance).
