The Part-Time Tasting Room Rep works as part of a team to support visitor center operations in a manner that achieves the established financial goals, ensures a rich consumer experience, builds consumer loyalty and reflects the brand essence. Principal functions include cash register operations, product knowledge/education, product presentations, sales and service on a part-time basis.

What You Will Do:

The role involves preparing the tasting room for daily operations, both opening and closing, and actively promoting the sale of wine and non-wine products available in the visitor center. The individual acts as a knowledgeable resource for consumers, providing information on winemaking, winegrowing, wine vintages, product availability, and brand accolades. Responsibilities also include describing wines, winemaking techniques, and the winery's history, handling purchasing transactions, supporting retail display and stocking, assisting with hospitality events, and maintaining inventory. Additionally, the role requires processing phone and shipping orders in compliance with regulations, checking identifications, recognizing intoxication symptoms, and representing the company with professionalism and enthusiasm. The ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail while quickly switching between tasks is essential.

What You Will Need:

•  High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing, or teaching and educating others experience.
•  Required to be 21 years of age or older.
•  Required to work weekends and a flexible schedule as needed.
•  Required to engage in frequent walking and standing.
•  Experienced in reading and comprehending simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
•  Experienced in writing simple correspondence and procedures.
•  Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
•  Lift and move product weighing up to 50 pounds.
•  Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
•  Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:

•  High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 2 years of tasting room, customer service, retail sales, wine industry, hospitality, team management, public relations, marketing, or teaching and educating others experience.
•  Knowledge of basic computer operation.
•  Knowledge of wine and wine production.
•  Knowledge of federal and state legal compliance related to tasting room operations.

Compensation:

•  Hiring rate listed: $23.50 / hr - $23.50 / hr
