Job Description:

Founded and family-owned since 1998, Van Duzer Vineyards is a 140-acre estate Pinot Noir winery located in the Van Duzer Corridor AVA and the Dundee Hills AVA of the Willamette Valley, Oregon.

Van Duzer Vineyards is seeking a full-time General Manager to oversee winery operations and lead wholesale and direct-to-consumer sales. As General Manager, you will be consistently engaged with the local and national wine community, oversee regional brand ambassadors, and support the Founder as he launches his namesake winery in Dundee, Thoma Estate. An effective General Manager will be a strategic thinking entrepreneur with a strong financial acumen and data-driven mindset. You will have a highly adaptable and energetic attitude that inspires our team to operate with growth in mind. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense of sales and marketing, while also having the confidence to propose innovative ideas that cultivate and elevate the Van Duzer and Thoma brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•  Oversee day-to-day winery operations through close interaction with all winery departments.
•  Oversee all financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. The GM will be expected to identify areas for cost reduction, efficiency gains and develop/implement strategies to improve bottom-line profitability. Ultimately, this position will include P&L ownership and accountability for performance against budget.
•  Delivers comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial reporting packages to ownership. The ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner is critical.
•  Works with ownership to identify and execute strategic initiatives across both wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.
•  Work with wholesale distributors by closely watching program performance, inventory, depletions, and progress to month and annual goals.
•  Strengthen existing distributor relationships and develop new account relationships in key accounts.
•  Monitor sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.
•  Works with ownership to set financial performance objectives and implements action plans to achieve goals as specified.
•  Ensures that expenditures remain within budgeted limits.
•  Oversee the creation of compelling marketing materials, including packaging, labels, brochures, and website content, to effectively communicate the Van Duzer brand story and unique site.
•  Pursues and cultivates relationships, partnerships, and alliances internally/externally; understands how to navigate formal and informal networks.
•  Coordinates and facilitates communication between winery departments with the goal to improve internal and external communications.
•  Coaches staff to create best practices and standard operating procedures that contribute to running a cohesive growth plan across all winery departments.

QUALIFICIATIONS
•  10 years of experience in winery management role with a proven track record of sales, marketing, financial & accounting, and hospitality. P&L ownership experience is a plus.
•  Proven experience with detailed budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
•  Experience creating and tracking relevant KPIs on a weekly/monthly/annual basis.
•  Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership roles within the wine industry, preferably in a winery setting.
•  Strong understanding of the wine market, consumer trends, and distribution channels.
•  Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue growth.
•  Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions based on insights.
•  Astute knowledge of proper interpersonal relationship development and management
•  Demonstration of strong sense of organization and attention to detail
•  Superior written and verbal communication skills
•  A reputation for a strong work ethic, as expressed in a sense of responsibility, reliability, and responsiveness.
•  Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. An advanced degree or additional certifications are a plus.

LOCATION
This role is based at the winery in Dallas, OR so candidates must live in the Willamette Valley.

COMPENSATION
Salary plus quarterly bonus based on sales success.. Health benefit, PTO and 401(k)
