Brasswood is looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. If you have experience working in a Winery lab and familiarity with Vintrace software as well as have an analytical personality who is a stickler for the details, then look no further!

Key Responsibilities:

•  Daily lab set up, calibration, reagent preparation, and clean up
•  Perform basic in-house lab analysis (pH, VA, FSO2, TA, EtoH) and QC of the wines
•  Work with lab manager on trials, winery inventory and Vintrace
•  Sampling
•  Assist in tracking fermentation in tank, barrel, and bottle
•  Monitor wine health
•  Provide QC assistance for bottling
•  Provide support to the cellar when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

•  B.S. degree in Enology/Science field OR High School Diploma/GED with laboratory experience
•  Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to work independently.
•  Basic computer skills: MS Word and MS Excel
•  Experience applying fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions for lab analysis
•  Understanding of general winemaking concepts and sensory analysis
•  Cellar experience is a plus
•  Ability to work as a team with all employees, yet be able to work under minimal supervision.
•  Ability to work flexible shifts, some nights, weekends and overtime required
•  Valid California Driver's License and clean DMV record required
•  Able to stand and walk for extended periods
•  Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee frequently is required to sit, stand, and walk for long periods. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift wine cases and objects up to 50 pounds. Employees must be able to work in small confined spaces and high places.
