A family owned, ultra-premium winery is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our cellar team. The candidate must operate at the highest quality level of work and have passion for making world class wine. Job duties cover the full process of winemaking, including, general cellar operations including, topping, racking, blending and bottling. Crush and harvest duties including grape receival, processing, pressing, etc. Availability to work long hours and weekends is an essential part of this position.
The right candidate must have year-round cellar experience in wine production of small batch ultra-premium wines and be detail oriented.
Requirements:
• Excellent forklift skills.
• Organized with attention to details.
• Plans and prioritizes work at request of winemaking team.
• Focuses on efficient, quality processes.
• Demonstrates punctual attendance, work ethic, responsibility, understands and follows company guidelines / policies.
• Operate winery equipment and machinery, which will typically include presses, cross flow and grape processing equipment.
• Adherence to company safety regulations.
• Report equipment breakdowns and communicates any problems to winemaking team.
• Reads and understands, work orders, and its able to use a tablet or computer to input completed work orders in record keeping software. (Software training provided)
• Solid math skills, able to calculate basic wine adds (S02, yeast etc.)
• May be temporarily assigned from time to time to other non-cellar projects, required
• Demonstrates character traits of respect, ethical conduct, and good judgment.
