POSITION SUMMARY
The Tasting Room Associate is a supportive role for the Tasting Room. The position supports and collaborates with the Tasting Room Manager to achieve the highest level of service, creative educational programs, and guest satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ability to relay service expectations and information that are respectful, clear and concise.
• Strong knowledge of ETW that promotes our product and increases opportunities for sales and membership sign-ups.
• Personalized service skills that build loyal guest relationships, instill team comradery, and exhibit vendor appreciation.
• Ability to memorize tasting notes and history to provide a personalized hospitality experience.
• Willing and able to assist in all tasks associated with private events, possibly outside of normal hours.
• Opening and Closing tasks that reflect acute attention to detail.
• Organization skills that help you and the team execute a seamless flow of service.
• Active participation that supports all team members in achieving elevated, elegant, warm and hospitable execution of tableside service reflecting our standards.
• Attention to detail and the team’s ability to fully and thoughtfully complete all tasks.
• Attention to cleanliness of all areas (both inside and outside).
• Ability to recognize guests expressed and unexpressed wishes and needs.
• Practice strong, empathetic verbiage and conflict resolution skills.
• Intuitive awareness of opportunities that may compromise the safety of our team and guests. This can be something as simple as floor mat placement on wet, rainy days to avoid slip and falls or something as critical as calling for police intervention.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum of 1 year of Hospitality experience.
• Sommelier education/experience preferable.
• Ability to lead a team driven and supportive experience offering the highest level of guest experience.
• Desire to be an active and participatory part of service to ensure a successful day.
• Strong knowledge of wine and food pairing.
• Strong observational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to create a warm and sincere ambience while being flexible and amiable at all intervals of service.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Fluent in English (Required). Strong oral communication skills (e.g., in-person conversation with guests and phone calls) and written communication skills (e.g., emails and letters to guests). Ability to read and interpret documents such as sales procedure and operational documents and scripts and to write routine report/spreadsheets.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Intermediate: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
• Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
• Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel (formulas and data manipulation) and Outlook (or equivalent programs preferred); Cloud-based Point of Sales Software; basic graphic art file manipulation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
