What You’ll Be Doing The successful candidate will have a distinguished track record of driving holistic brand engagement across contemporary digital media platforms & environments, ideally to include subject matter expertise in the following channels:
• Digital channel - E-commerce, social media, email, website, SEO/SEM
• Hospitality - Service, guest engagement, sales, staffing, training
• Retail - Product mix, promotion, and merchandising
• Loyalty - Subscription & retention programs, community building, event management
What You’re Good At
• Sales & Profit Growth: Accountable for the annual sales performance of the DTC channel. Manage the P&L, Capex, and Opex budgets for DTC properties (real and virtual). Collaborate with leadership to drive profitable growth through customer acquisition and product assortment.
• Customer Relationships: Develop strategies and tactics across brand-channel teams to attract new visitors, grow the membership base, and increase customer retention and loyalty. Responsible for delivering an integrated brand experience across all DTC touchpoints of the consumer journey.
• Guest Services & Fulfillment: Optimize the guest services model to resolve consumers’ issues, increase sales, promote loyalty, and increase consumer lifetime value. Manage strategic vendor relationships for DTC software and 3PL fulfillment to deliver seamless, cost-effective, and customer-responsive solutions. Partner operations team to ensure sufficient inventory for DTC needs.
• Leadership & Culture: Practice safety, ensure employee well-being, invite diverse and inclusive perspectives, and promote sociability to develop a collegial work environment. Build and coach high-performing DTC team members that are goal-oriented and customer-centric. Assume accountability for performance management, professional development, and long-term succession planning.
• Tasting Room Management Duties include but not limited to:
- Oversee & manage the tasting room daily operations.
- Hands on management of the team to foster sales and a positive work environment.
- Create protocols in the new space and enforce the tasting room policies & procedures.
- Contribute suggestions for process and performance improvement.
- Maintain food and beverage program
- Work with management on strategies to achieve goals.
- Incentivize the staff to reach individual and collective goals.
- Increase quality traffic to the tasting room.
- Carry out wine and food programs.
- Train and maintain “specialty” tastings.
- Manage “client telling” portfolios to ensure staff is following up regularly with their guests.
- Work with staff to maintain client database and grow business.
- Work with local resorts and partners to bring in new customers.
- Responsible for hiring, orientation, scheduling, training, supervising, and evaluating staff.
- Monitor and evaluate staff responsibilities and performance.
- Develop and track KPIs and perform analysis and reporting of performance to present management.
- Develop and distribute monthly staff schedule.
- Manage cash register, and accounting of daily sales and bank deposits.
Wine Club
- Maintain proper wine shipping procedures.
- Report club sign-ups
- Follow and maintain procedures for club pick-ups.
- Communicate any issues with staff regarding wine club sign up forms.
- Relay all issues with members or club orders to tasting room staff
Facility Management & Inventory
- Manage wine inventory in Tasting Room, ordering as needed to perform daily operations.
- Ensure cleanliness and neatness of the facility at all time.
- Maintain inventory of tasting menus and all printed collateral.
Customer Service
- Monitor customer service feedback and provide a superior level of hospitality to all guests.
- Set up and host tastings, sell wines, wine club memberships and retail items when needed
- Fulfill orders, capture customer data.
About You
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of hospitality management and execution with a proven track record of exceeding KPI targets
- Strong leadership skills and team player with the ability to coach others
- Knowledge of food and wine, the wine industry and competitive offerings, Napa and Bay Area hospitality market
- Proven track record leading others and delivering results against defined targets
- Sales leader and consistently deliver results
- Dynamic communication skills & positive attitude

- Valid driver's license
Skills Needed
- Tasting Room Management experience, including inventory and people-management
- Excellent hospitality, communication and sales skills
- Leadership skills and comfort upholding standards and policies
- Comfort using computer, office suites and POS systems including redchirp, winedirect, mailchimp, etc
- Advanced wine knowledge with demonstrated ability to educate others
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Extremely organized with ability to effectively prioritize tasks
- Proven ability to effectively train, manage and lead sta
