JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The Compliance and Data Management Specialist plays a pivotal role in Demeine Estates maintaining all State and Government regulations. This position requires an understanding of State Wine Compliance requirements, including Franchise laws where applicable. The successful candidate will liaise with clients, state officials, distributor partners & suppliers to ensure that all goods are sold efficiently and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This person should possess the ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision, and have the skills to deliver professional, neat, and error-free work product with exceptional attention to detail and adherence to schedules. They should be capable of handling heavy workload, work within tight timelines and must exhibit an ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

•  Wine Compliance Paperwork Knowledge: Prepare, review, and submit Compliance documents required for State registrations.
•  Ensure accurate and timely submission of all paperwork to State authorities and Compliance partner.
•  Stay updated on the latest compliance regulations and requirements for various states.
•  Prepare and process necessary compliance forms, Including Appointment/Termination Letters, Franchise Letters, State required Documents.
•  Complete State Registration in the State Portals.
•  Work with Distributor Network to get required signatures on Required documents.
•  Support Import Partners on the Compliance, and label Approval process.
•  Keep abreast of changes in Compliance regulations and procedures in different states.
•  Product set up in 3rd Party Data Base, Including all supporting documents.
•  Maintain Workflow for all State registration requests.
•  Provide guidance and advice on Compliance related matters to clients and internal teams.
•  Accuracy and attention to detail.
•  Ability to complete tasks with minimal instruction.
•  Manage Compliance Email Box and incoming/outgoing communications from the states to the compliance partner.
•  Work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage confidential information in a discreet manner.
•  Ability to organize and maintain a large database of documents.
•  Manage State registration directly with states not managed by third party partner.
•  Provide weekly compliance update to leadership and monthly reviews with Sales & Marketing.
•  UPC code management.
•  Maintain Product Database for Product list, with Product Specifications.
•  Manage new Government Regulations for wine packaging.
•  Special Project support as requested.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor's Degree with significant coursework or work experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or similar areas of study.
•  3-5 years of business-related experience with a quantitative focus.
•  3+ years of experience across sales forecasting, analytics and previous experience supporting commercial teams.
•  Excellent attention to detail.
•  Previous experience in the CPG or wine industry.
•  Good time-management, and critical thinking skills.
•  Substantial analytical expertise.
•  Effective communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally to drive business outcomes.
•  Well-developed organization, project management, and multi-tasking skills.
•  Ability to work productively in a demanding environment and within constraints of tight deadlines.
•  Demonstrated experience with enterprise software applications such as Business Central, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skill-level in Excel, and experience with supply chain planning or scheduling software application processes and principles. Experience with Avalara software is a plus.
•  Ability to contribute to a positive work atmosphere by communicating clearly with customers and co-workers.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, talk, or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Other Duties:
Employee must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid Driver’s License, and be insurable by company standards.

Salary range is $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional bonus opportunity.
