Eastern Regional Sales Manager

Job Description:

Objective: NW Wine Company is looking for a dynamic & experienced wine sales professional to join our sales team as the Eastern Regional Sales Manager.

Job Description: Based on the east coast (USA), the Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving wholesale sales goals & growing brand awareness of Hyland Estates, Westmount Wine & our extensive control/private label program within the Eastern US territory. The ideal candidate would be a goal-oriented, self-motivated wine professional with experience managing multiple wine distributors across a region – preferably the Eastern USA. This position will require regular travel as needed.

This position reports directly to the VP of Sales and will work in collaboration with our current sales, education & marketing teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•  Regularly calls on On &-Off Premise customers, independently and with our distributor partners.
•  Educates key On & Off-premise customers on products and merchandising as well as the unique characteristics of NW Wine Co’s wines, vineyards, sustainability initiatives & how these fit into our competitive set.
•  Ensures that the Eastern Regional Wholesale channel performs within planned budget.
•  Utilizes key informational tools, such as VIP, ad hoc reporting, Nielsen data and distributor information to regularly evaluate and understand NW Wine Co’s business in both the on & off-premise channels.
•  Drives sales by building dynamic relationships with the on/off premise trade, distributors & general consumers.
•  Completes and maintains On/Off Premise and Chain account target lists and prepares proactive strategies to successfully engage key customers with NW Wine Co’s portfolio.
•  Be a Brand Champion, both with distributor teams and internally, helping to educate and encourage the sales teams to achieve set goals & objectives.
•  Communicates approved programs to distributor account teams and assists in implementation while also tracking programs for effectiveness and return on investment.
•  Communicates & implements annual plans and goals, tracking both with the wholesale network and independently.

Qualifications:
•  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
•  A passion for Oregon wine.
•  Experience in Regional/National sales & alcohol distributor sales management preferred.
•  Experience with building and setting pricing with wholesalers & retailers at a regional or multi-state level that aligns with NW Wine Co’s brand standards.
•  Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve sales goals.
•  Experience working with SGWS regionally or Nationally a plus.
•  Strong mathematical and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail are needed in order to understand revenues, expenses, budget, sales plan variances, and promotional activity.
•  Exemplary communication, influence and negotiation skills are required in order to work effectively with a variety of people, and foster teamwork.
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, allowing the candidate to build presentations, sell sheets, and deliver and respond to detailed correspondence.
•  Possess complete knowledge of products, wine industry, competitive markets, brands, and customers’ issues and needs.
•  Valid Driver’s license.
•  Willingness to travel as needed.
•  Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
•  Key Regional and National Chain relationships preferred.
•  Experience with private/control label sales a plus.
