The Tasting Room Associate is responsible for ensuring that all winery guests receive an impeccable experience that delivers on our goals of customer acquisition and club member retention, and that every guest leave with wine in hand and a positive memory of Blakeslee Vineyard Estate and our team.
The rock star candidate will be eager and excited to join our A-Team of hospitality professionals representing high-end Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the heart of the Laurelwood District AVA. This role can be incredibly lucrative for the strong salesperson, on average our Tasting Room Associates have a strong base hourly wage with gratuity and a sales incentive program based on wine club recruitment and tasting room wine sales.


The following reflects the essential functions for this job. Other tasks may be assigned from time to time. Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Welcome and serve all visitors with an enthusiastic and unmistakable service heart
-Guide guests through wine tasting flights and winery tours while educating them about the brand story, viticulture and winemaking practices, wines, and non-wine offerings.
-Develop meaningful rapport with every guest through their tasting experience and present our wines in a manner that converts guests into customers, and best of all, wine club members
-Ensure a fun and memorable experience for first-time guests and loyal members alike.
-Daily Tasting Room operations including; opening setup and closing breakdown, opening and tasting wines for quality control, preparing printed materials for guest service, operating POS systems and cash registers, stocking wines and merchandise, performing sales transactions for carry-out and shipping orders, keeping guest areas clean and tidy.
-Represent the winery at outside events and industry functions as needed.
-Quickly recognize the signs that a guest should not be served alcohol and take appropriate action to professionally address the situation
-Behave in a mature, professional, and team-oriented, manner always.


-Experience with a luxury wine/retail brand a strong plus.
-Strong overall knowledge and interest in wine industry – Oregon wine knowledge highly preferred.
-Drive revenue by selling wine, tastings, memberships and merchandise.
-Enthusiastic, passionate, and dynamic service style
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Self-aware, able to work independently, and driven to excel and make a difference
-Positive attitude and outlook with the ability to work within a team atmosphere.
-Ability to remain calm and poised under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills.
-OLCC and Food Handlers Permits required
-Must be at least 21 years of age
-Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. The schedule for this position requires both Saturday and Sunday routinely.
