Social Media/Digital Editor
Role Summary:
The Online/Social Media Editor will spearhead our social media, newsletter, and digital advertising efforts. This individual will be responsible for creating and curating compelling content that aligns with the JamesSuckling.com brand aesthetic, ensuring consistent engagement and growth across our digital platforms. This is an independent contractor position and can be located anywhere within the US.
Key Responsibilities:
•  Social Media Management: Drive engagement by managing and executing a content calendar that delivers a minimum of 3+ compelling posts per day across various social media platforms. Ensure content is on-brand, creative, and optimized for each platform.
•  Newsletter Production: Design and dispatch 4 engaging newsletters weekly, incorporating the latest wine reviews, news, and events. Guarantee timely and accurate delivery to maintain subscriber engagement and satisfaction.
•  Digital Advertising: Oversee social media boosts and advertising campaigns across platforms, including Google Ads. Responsible for creating, launching, analyzing, and reporting on campaigns. Develop strategies to increase reach, engagement, and conversions.
•  Analytics & Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to track social media and newsletter performance. Generate regular reports to inform strategy, demonstrating an understanding of key metrics and ROI.
•  Brand Alignment: Ensure all digital content reflects the JamesSuckling.com brand aesthetics and voice. Work closely with the editorial and design teams to maintain brand consistency.
•  Innovation & Strategy: Continuously seek innovative ways to engage our audience and expand our digital footprint. Stay ahead of digital media trends and suggest new ideas for content and advertising strategies.
Qualifications:
•  Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in managing social media platforms, newsletters, and digital advertising campaigns.
•  Education: University graduate with a degree relevant to Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
•  Wine Knowledge: A strong understanding of or background in the wine industry is highly advantageous.
•  Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media analytics tools, Google Ads, SEO principles, and email marketing platforms.
•  Creativity & Innovation: Exceptional creative content creation skills with the ability to capture the brand’s voice and aesthetic.
•  Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate end-to-end customer experiences across multiple channels and customer touchpoints.
•  Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
•  Communication Skills: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English. Additional languages are a plus.
•  Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other departments.
