Support Staff at High-End Wine Retailer: PT Position +/- 25 Hrs/Wk

General Expectations: The primary role is to ensure the proper organization and appearance of the store. Main daily tasks include inventory, shipping and receiving wine, stocking shelves, deliveries, and processing wine orders. Individuals must possess strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills to multitask on a daily basis. Open to feedback, committed to continuous improvement, and passionate about their quality of work. Work as a team player to efficiently complete job tasks and have a proactive approach to the position.

Job Responsibilities
•  The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for providing the front-line customer experience by developing relationships that promote the sale of wine, wine club membership, and brand loyalty
•  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships
•  Retail sales and customer service experience, i.e., the ability to present products, upsell and cross-sell
•  Providing consistently exceptional service (answering phones, responding to emails)
•  Receiving, pricing, creating signage, and otherwise prepare incoming wine and merchandise for the retail sales floor
•  Individual will also take part in stocking wines, moving cases of wine, and other tasks as needed
•  Order processing and fulfillment
•  Assisting customers with order placement
•  Efficiently pick customer orders for pickup, delivery or shipment
•  Assist customers by bringing wine and merchandise to their vehicles
•  Process/comply and package in-house shipments to customers
•  Conduct physical inventories as required
•  Computer skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs…
•  Accurately uses POS registers and other store systems to transact sales and maintain store inventory
•  Accurately completes end of day reports
•  Performs opening and closing duties
•  Operate cash registers and handles cash accurately
•  Demonstrates personal accountability by completing all job duties in a correct and timely manner and by following all company policies and procedures
•  Ensures that the store and tasting room is clean by disposing of trash, wiping counters and tabletops, cleaning glassware, etc.
•  Restock wine and glassware in the tasting room as needed
•  First-hand knowledge, appreciation, and passion for wine
•  Available to work weekends and holidays
•  Presents a professional demeanor and appearance
•  Must be able to work as part of a team and individually
•  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
•  Ability to stand for extended periods of time
•  Ability to lift/move/carry 40 pounds on a repetitive basis
•  Ability to stand for long periods of time
•  Ability to effectively stock wine, and be able to utilize dolly cart and assist in moving heavy objects
•  Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
•  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
•  Ability to contribute to a positive work atmosphere by communicating with customers, co-workers, and management according to established standards
•  Complete projects and other duties as directed
•  Must be at least 21 years of age
Qualifications:
Education: College Degree preferred Licenses: Driver's License

Must be 21 years of age; Must have a valid driver’s license under the laws of the State of California, acceptable motor vehicle record, proof of insurance.
Specialized Work Experience: Prior retail/customer service experience required. Knowledge of the wine products & wine industry required.
Other: Detail-oriented. Strong communication skills. Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook,
POS. Ability to absorb new processes and adapt quickly to change. Multi-tasking skills.
Organized work habits. Proactive mentality.

Physical Requirements: Standing, bending, twisting and/or stooping on a regular basis. Lift 25-50 lbs and be able to use retail-type ladders. Reaching and/or lifting overhead, grasping/grabbing with hands on a regular basis.
