Sales Development Representative

Job Description:

T. Edward Wines and Spirits is looking to hire a driven and results oriented Sales Development Representative. The SDR will grow sales and manage customer inquiries on a large set of largely retail NYC customers. Unlike a traditional sales rep role at T. Edward and elsewhere, this position will be largely based out of our office and our SDR will regularly engage their large set of accounts through phone, text, email, and social media. Time management skills and strategic thinking will be key as the SDR works with sales management to identify growth opportunities and pass relevant accounts on to the metro sales team.

This is a salaried sales position ideal for a candidate looking to move into the wine and spirits industry, or for someone currently in the wine and spirits industry looking for a position with more traditional office hours.

Position Responsibilities:

•  Manage customer relationships and be the T. Edward point of contact for over 200 small metro accounts who don’t require a full time in-market sales rep

•  Respond to customer inquiries and enter orders

•  Analyze sales in territory to identify new opportunities

•  Present new items to customers and increase SKU count at strategic accounts

•  Work collaboratively with the metro sales team and sales management team to grow sales companywide

What you need:?

•  A proven track record of growing business over a large set of accounts.?

•  Experience cold calling and developing new business.?

•  Proven success in email and phone-based marketing, sales, or engagement.?

•  Experience working in the wine and spirits industry or experience working in a sales function in another industry with WSET, CMS, or other wine/ spirits focused classes/ certifications.?

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•  Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

•  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

•  Ability to work from the T. Edward Manhattan office

•  Ability to meet and present to NYC customers in person 4 to 8 days per month

Physical requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and carry products during appointments.
