Sommsation is a wine experience marketplace and technology platform revolutionizing the way people connect over wine by bringing together premium independent wineries, sommeliers, and direct-to-consumer purchasers. We are looking for a talented and creative Content Writer with expertise in wine and experience with various Content Management Systems (CMS) to join our team. If you're passionate about wine and have a flair for crafting engaging content, we want to hear from you. This role will be hands-on and help with the daily creation and execution of content across our various marketing channels. You will play a pivotal role in creating and managing content that educates, informs, and engages our audience across blog, social, email, and other marketing channels, all while maintaining brand standards, tone, and voice. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated and proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Creativity, persistence, and the ability to handle competing priorities are a must.

Responsibilities:
- Develop captivating and persuasive copy for various marketing channels, including website content, blog articles, social media posts, email campaigns, product descriptions, and more, as needed
- Write clear and concise copy that conveys key messages, engages readers, and prompts action
- Collaborate with our marketing team to understand our brand voice, target audience, and marketing objectives, ensuring all copy aligns with our brand guidelines
- Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to grammar and style guidelines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging platforms to refine and enhance our copywriting strategies continually
- Be a daily user of our Content Management System (CMS) to publish, edit, and optimize content for online visibility and user experience
- Ensure all content is search engine optimized, incorporating relevant keywords to enhance our online presence
- Gather requirements and coordinate with team members and agencies on the execution of deliverables for digital strategies
- Support other eCommerce and content management efforts as requested
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in Marketing, Journalism, Media or related field
- 3+ years experience as a Copywriter, either as a freelancer or in an agency environment. Experience must include wine, beer, or spirits, luxury goods, and/or hospitality
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a mastery of grammar and punctuation
- Demonstrated ability to craft compelling copy that drives engagement, conversions, and brand awareness
- Strong research skills and the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise messaging
- Self-motivated, must be comfortable owning workstreams and delivering on brand, while working collaboratively with various teams and team members
- Proven ability to work in high-growth organizations. Demonstrated track record with start-ups a plus.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and best practices in digital content creation.
- Outstanding project management and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to adapt under evolving circumstances and manage multiple agencies.
- Technology savvy, proficiency with Google tools required
- Some travel is required (approximately 20%)
