High elevation (> 3,000 ft.) Cabernet Franc located in esteemed Apple Hill zone of El Dorado County. Italian clones farmed organically, but not certified, on two different soil types, Aiken clay loam, and Mariposa sandy loam, both interlaced with river rock and tuff. Wine profile is definitely Loire Valley here, with elevated red fruits and floral notes reminiscent of a fine Chinon or Bourgueil, moderate tannins, and healthy acidity from the soil types and elevation.
