Our mountain top vineyard block is meticulously farmed for great looking, great tasting fruit. This block is in rocky, volcanic soil with highly concentrated fruit flavors and extremely rich aromatics. We farm sustainably and hand pick very clean. The ultra-premium quality mountain-vineyard Sangiovese is grown in the Chalk Hill AVA on the cool, windy peaks of the first western slope of the Mayacamas range. Some samples available. Windsor Oaks Vineyard is a beautiful 710-acre estate with varietal blocks grown on low fertility, rolling hillsides with major elevation changes among the blocks. Lower sections of the ranch start at 200 feet above sea level while several hillside blocks reach as high as 1,000 ft. Most blocks are south facing on well-drained, stony cobbled clay or volcanic soils. Across the 250 acre vineyard, Windsor Oaks produces 18 different varietals. The entire property is included in the Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill AVAs. The fruit produced is suitable for ultra-premium, luxury, and higher valued wines.
