At The Four Graces we aim to make rich, complex wines that showcase the quality of our fruit and expression of our vineyard sites. We source grapes from our four estate vineyards situated in different AVAs within the Willamette Valley. In addition to working with a diverse set of vineyard sites, The Four Graces utilizes aspects of both traditional techniques and modern technology in winemaking, offering potential for plenty of learning opportunities. We’re a small, passionate, dedicated team and we strive to ensure maximum efficiency, safety, and wine quality. .
Job Summary:
This position is ideal for someone interested in pursuing a career in the winemaking industry. We are looking for someone who is energetic, wants to learn, enjoys the winemaking process and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Involved in all areas of wine production from harvest through bottling in accordance with FFWS winemaking and operational policies, to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency and the high quality of all wines produced.
In addition to the $500 sign-on bonus paid at the end of your internship, we also provide some meals!
This is a temporary position; the anticipated length of employment is August through November 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist the production team in the following areas:
• Winery sanitation
• Grape receiving, crushing and pressing
• Fermentation management
• Juice racking
• Additions:
• Barrel filling
• Pumpovers
Have a basic understanding of wine chemistry (pH, TA, brix) as well as some education or work experience in a laboratory setting.
This person will be responsible for cellar tasks, and well as:
• Daily fermentation tracking (brix and temps)
• Additions and inoculations
• Collection and analysis of tank and barrel samples
• Lab calibration and recordkeeping
• Data entry
• Maintaining a tidy and organized workspace in the lab
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to stand and walk for long hours
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
• Ability to work both inside and outside in varying, often cold or wet, weather conditions
Experience and Qualifications
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic math skills
• Ability to accurately follow and complete work instructions
• Willingness to work long hours including weekends and swing shifts as needed
• Previous cellar and forklift experience is a plus but not required
• Candidates must be reliable and enthusiastic
