Aridus Wine Company

Willcox, AZ

Apply

Job Description:

Aridus Wine Company is seeking a hands-on Winery Maintenance & Operations Manager for our production facility in Willcox, Arizona.
This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting the winery’s buildings, mechanical systems, production equipment, grounds, and related operations. The successful candidate will help keep the facility operating safely, reliably, and efficiently by troubleshooting equipment, completing routine maintenance, coordinating outside contractors, and responding to operational needs throughout the winery.

This is a working, hands-on position rather than a desk-based management role. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, organized, dependable, and comfortable diagnosing problems and completing repairs in an active production environment.

Key Responsibilities
Mechanical, Facility, and Equipment Maintenance
Diagnose, repair, and coordinate maintenance of winery equipment, pumps, motors, compressors, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, electrical components, buildings, and grounds.
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on production and facility systems.
Respond promptly to equipment failures, water leaks, electrical issues, HVAC problems, and other urgent maintenance needs.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, warranties, service history, and preventative maintenance.
Identify recurring equipment or facility problems and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
Maintain tools, replacement parts, and commonly used maintenance materials.

Production and Harvest Support
Work closely with the winemaking and cellar teams to support crush-pad operations, harvest equipment, tank-cleaning systems, pumps, hoses, bottling equipment, storage areas, and production projects.
Assist with the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown of harvest and bottling equipment.
Help ensure production areas remain clean, organized, functional, and safe.
Provide timely mechanical and facility support during critical production activities.
Assist with moving, installing, or modifying equipment as operational needs change.

Vendor and Contractor Coordination
Source, schedule, and supervise third-party contractors for specialized repairs, construction, landscaping, pest control, security, and other facility services.
Obtain and review repair estimates, service agreements, and facility-related proposals.
Confirm that vendors and contractors follow winery safety, sanitation, and site-access requirements.
Monitor contractor work for quality, timeliness, and cost effectiveness.

Grounds and Hospitality Facility Support
Support the maintenance and appearance of tasting-room interiors, patios, parking areas, storage spaces, landscaping, and guest-facing areas.
Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to identify mechanical, safety, cleanliness, or appearance concerns.
Coordinate setup and facility support for winery events, private rentals, and other company activities.
Travel occasionally to the company’s Phoenix or Scottsdale locations when repairs or facility support are required.

Safety, Compliance, and Inventory
Help maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and applicable local safety standards.
Maintain safety documentation and supplies, including Safety Data Sheets, eyewash stations, emergency equipment, signage, and first-aid materials.
Support emergency preparedness for power outages, water interruptions, equipment failures, leaks, and urgent facility repairs.
Track facility and maintenance inventory, including tools, cleaning supplies, light bulbs, replacement parts, and operating materials.
Submit purchase requests and help control maintenance and repair costs.

Qualifications
Three to five or more years of experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, facilities operations, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, or a related hands-on field is preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
Working knowledge of pumps, motors, plumbing, HVAC, basic electrical systems, equipment maintenance, and general construction.
Experience in a winery, food-production facility, agricultural operation, manufacturing facility, or similar environment is a plus.
Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance and operational needs in a fast-paced production environment.
Comfortable working independently and coordinating with vendors, contractors, production employees, hospitality staff, and ownership.
Familiarity with preventative maintenance schedules, safety records, repair documentation, and inventory tracking.
Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, maintenance logs, and inventory records.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, use hand and power tools, and work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
