The Winery and Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production, facilities, vineyard, and site equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. This position will be reporting to the Assistant Winemaker.
WINERY AND FACILITIES MAINTENANCE MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the facility’s equipment
• Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair of glycol cooling and heating systems throughout winemaking and barrel aging spaces
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Conduct maintenance routine scheduled maintenance, troubleshoots, and repairs with an emphasis on uptime and overall equipment efficiency ensuring limited down time
• Order, organize, and maintain parts inventory of spare and project related needs
Services pumps and drive system components
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Upgrade and maintain winery controls in cellar
VINEYARD MAINTENANCE MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform essential maintenance on all vineyard equipment
• Assist in on-the-job training of maintenance staff
• Institute and maintain preventative maintenance program
• Keep accurate records of preventive maintenance, work orders, and supplies
• Have constant knowledge regarding contracts and suppliers
• Maintain equipment, trailers and tractors organized
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, tractors, trailers, manifolds, and pumps
• Manage and Maintain Vineyard water systems
• Inspect machines, engines, hydraulic systems etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
• Responsible for ordering and proper storage of maintenance materials and supplies for equipment
• Handling of chemicals and hazardous materials, such as fuels, oils, etc.
• Winterize all equipment including (Manifolds, Pumps, Cover Tractors, Exc.)
• Suggest modifications to improve performance and to increase production
TASTING ROOM MAINTENANCE MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Overall responsibility upkeep of property repairs and projects
• Create monthly needs with team at Trenton Roadhouse
• Create weekly projects for the properties
• Ensure the property Kubota is in proper working order
• Manage and track all expenses for projects
• Ensure all equipment is working properly and reports deficiencies to supervisor
• Track repairs and maintenance which includes monthly /quarterly works (window cleaning/ filters changing, pest control
• Pond maintenance
• Undertake and manage on-site carpentry projects
• Assist with furniture moving for events as needed
• Work with landscaping/vineyard team on projects
• Plan and oversee painting schedule for the property
• Transport items as needed to the winery
• Keep all tool storage areas cleaned, organized, and properly secured
• Approve propane bills with accounting
• Schedule septic cleaning every 6 months
• Responsible for repairing furniture as needed
• Identify repair needs and reports them TRH team
• Work with outside contractors on property projects – Electrical and or Construction
REQUIRED SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
• 4+ years of maintenance experience
• Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC (HVAC experience a plus, and will be compensated accordingly)
• Will require ability to be certified/certifications to operate specific equipment, machinery and/or plant vehicles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
• Must have an eye for detail be able/prepared to work in all weather conditions
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and /or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration
• Very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
• Occasional long and irregular hours during peak seasons and/or special events; may require 7 days a week
