Compensation: $60,000 – $80,000 DOE
ABOUT THE ROLE
A private, family-owned luxury wine estate is seeking a Manager of DTC Operations, Sales & Customer Experience to lead direct-to-consumer strategy, execution, and client engagement.
This role represents a unique opportunity to join at the ground floor of a new venture, debuting its inaugural release this summer from a critically acclaimed legacy vineyard. As the first dedicated hire for this initiative, this position will play a foundational role in shaping the customer experience, operational systems, and long-term growth of a highly limited, allocation-driven program.
Based in Carmel, this role is both strategic and hands-on, serving as the primary relationship manager for a curated group of collectors and private clients, while driving operational excellence across DTC sales, fulfillment, and communications.
This position reports to the President, Winemaker, and Director of Vineyard Operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Experience & Relationship Management
• Serve as the primary point of contact for members and top-tier clients
• Deliver a highly personalized, luxury-level customer experience
• Build relationships with a curated group of collectors and private clients
• Drive retention, loyalty, and lifetime value
Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Sales & Allocation Execution
• Execute highly limited allocation releases, including inaugural release
• Manage DTC sales, compliance, and fulfillment
• Drive allocation performance and repeat purchasing
• Track performance and refine outreach strategies
Operations & Fulfillment
• Oversee shipping logistics, inventory, and order fulfillment
• Coordinate documentation, labels, and pickups
• Maintain precise inventory control
• Ensure operational accuracy and discretion
Hospitality & Experiences
• Host tastings and curated client experiences
• Support intimate events and activations
• Represent the brand at the highest level
Marketing & Communications
• Execute tailored DTC communications
• Support storytelling and brand positioning
• Refine customer journeys and release strategies
Leadership & Coordination
• Collaborate with winemaking, vineyard, and leadership
• Maintain clear communication and accountability
• Support scalable systems and planning
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5–10+ years in wine, luxury hospitality, or DTC operations
• Experience with allocation-based or limited-production programs preferred
• Strong client relationship and operational skills
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
• Entrepreneurial mindset and team-oriented
Preferred:
• ECellar, ShipCompliant, FedEx, RedChirp or similar
• DTC compliance and CRM experience
• POS and email marketing platforms
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Stand/walk for extended periods
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
• Weekend and occasional evening availability required
• Based in Carmel, CA with multi-location coordination
