Alexana Estate - Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley - est. 2005
Bodega Corazón del Sol - Los Chacayes, Uco Valley, Mendoza - est. 2008
Our portfolio is represented in top-tier restaurants, private clubs, resorts, and collector circles across the country, while our estate properties are recognized as premier destinations for luxury wine experiences.
This role is designed for a senior, outward-facing sales leader who thrives equally in national markets and at the estate—someone who contributes directly to revenue, relationships, and brand elevation locally and nationally.
Key senior sales position based in Oregon (Willamette Valley) at Alexana Estate with approximately 20–30 weeks of annual travel. The position combines national wholesale leadership with hands-on estate-level sales, hospitality, and event support when not traveling.
This is not a DTC management role. Instead, the position focuses on direct contribution: hosting key clients, supporting high-value experiences, driving strategic events, and serving as a senior ambassador for the brand both on the road and at Alexana Estate.
The role works closely with executive leadership, hospitality, marketing, and production teams to ensure alignment between national sales strategy and estate-level execution.
Core Responsibilities
1. National & Wholesale Sales Leadership (Primary Focus)
• Lead Western U.S. wholesale sales across 9 key markets in first year, ensuring consistent execution of brand standards and growth initiatives.
• Develop and implement market-specific strategic plans with clear KPIs, depletion goals, and account priorities.
• Maintain and strengthen distributor relationships with a focus on accountability, performance, and long-term partnership.
• Analyze sales performance, depletion reports, pricing, and account activity using the VinoSmith platform.
• Build and manage strategic target account lists by market, including top restaurants, private clubs, luxury hotels, and collectors.
• Host and lead a minimum of 20+ trade and client events annually, including wine dinners, tastings, and distributor ride-withs.
• Travel approximately 26 trips per year for distributor work, market visits, and national events.
• Maintain disciplined expense management with timely reporting.
2. Estate-Based Sales & Client Engagement (When Not Traveling)
When in Oregon, the role serves as a senior on-site sales and engagement contributor, supporting—not managing— a highly skilled and experienced DTC and hospitality team:
• Host VIP clients, collectors, trade groups, and industry partners at Alexana Estate.
• Support high-value tasting experiences, private appointments, and member engagements alongside the hospitality team.
• Act as a senior brand ambassador during key visitation periods, trade visits, and partnership activations.
• Assist with select client follow-up and relationship cultivation tied directly to hosted experiences or national accounts.
3. Strategic Event Leadership & Industry Engagement
• Serve as a lead planning and execution partner for:
o Oregon Pinot Camp
o Premiere Napa Valley
o Key winery-hosted and off-site events tied to sales, trade, and brand positioning
• Collaborate with marketing, hospitality, and executive teams on event strategy, guest targeting, and on-site execution.
• Support auction lots, trade tastings, and high-profile partnership events as needed.
• Represent the winery at major industry functions, reinforcing luxury positioning and long-term relationships.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Brand Alignment
• Work closely with executive leadership, winemaking, hospitality, and marketing teams to ensure alignment across wholesale, estate, and event strategies.
• Provide field and market feedback to inform production planning, allocations, pricing, and release timing.
• Support storytelling, trade education, and strategic brand initiatives through direct engagement rather than content management.
What This Role Is Not
To avoid role creep and ensure success, this position does not include:
• Direct management of DTC, tasting room, or hospitality staff
• Ownership of wine club operations, CRM administration, or ecommerce execution
• Responsibility for internal DTC KPIs, payroll, scheduling, or departmental budgeting
This role adds senior commercial horsepower, not operational management.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 5+ years in a senior national or regional wine sales role.
• Proven success managing multi-state distributor networks in the fine wine/luxury segment.
• Strong command of depletion analytics, pricing strategy, and distributor performance management.
• Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and hospitality skills.
• Advanced wine certification required (CMS Advanced, WSET Diploma, or equivalent).
• Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating independently.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Oregon, with regular on-site presence at Alexana Estate when not traveling.
Benefits:
- Highly competitive salary range: Base Salary plus Sales Commissions
- 401K program with match, and a generous vesting schedule.
- Additional commissions/bonuses on wine club signups
- A generous wine allocation
- 50% employer coverage of health/vision/dental insurance
- Employer-sponsored life insurance coverage with optional additional coverage
- 15 days of annual PTO (vacation/personal/sick)
- 10 days of paid holidays
