Job Title: Wine Buyer

Opportunity:
Ready to help shape the future of luxury wine sales? Wine Scout is looking for a dynamic and experienced wine buyer to join our team. The Wine Buyer role will be integral in driving the selection of our Clubs, Private email offers, Website, and Scout Team exclusives. This is a pivotal role and your chance to leverage your wine buying and online sales experience; you will work closely with our winery and distributor partners to curate and maintain our diverse portfolio of wines. You will be deeply involved in the entire purchasing process from vendor relationships, management of inventory, merchandising, and collaborating on marketing. You will directly impact our customer experience with the wines you choose and how we bring them to market.

Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate deals and strategically manage vendor relationships to maximize profitability.
Source products to meet or exceed the monthly revenue and gross profit goals.
Daily, weekly and monthly detailed reporting and analysis.
Fulfill our Wine Clubs with purchased wines and in stock inventory that fit the theme for that month.
Seek out unique offers for our Private Sales team.
Collaborate on merchandising for our website, segmented offers, and mailer catalog.
Reach out to our suppliers for new allocations and releases.
Hunt down hard to find bottles for our top customer requests.
Maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and timely responses
Wine tasting and other duties

Key Skills:
High wine knowledge, with emphasis on popular regions and producers.
Experience with Netsuite, Shopify, LinnWorks and other ERPs
Excel proficiency is a must.
Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously
Excellent relationship building and communication skills, internal and external
Strong desire to provide superior customer service and cultivate relationships.
Solution-oriented and resourceful to ensure a high-quality customer experience
Deals with conflict and stressful situations in a professional manner
Strong attention to sales and administrative detail.
A self-starter attitude — comfortable managing multiple timelines in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or relevant field)

Compensation: $70K - $85K, Salary

Onsite: Napa California
