Job Summary:
The Key Account Manager Wine & Spirits On-Premise is responsible for making Key Account calls within their given territory, ensuring that all programming, promotions, and special events are effectively communicated to the Sales Director, Wine & Spirits Director, DM, and Sales Representative. This position is responsible for all Wine &Spirits accounts within their territory as well providing assistance to the Sales team in executing programs for multiple-owner accounts and is responsible for all DeCrescente category sales within their assigned account base.

Essential Functions:
Business
• Sells in distribution and promotions to Wine & Spirits accounts within the assigned territory.
• Operates as the on-premise support Key Account Manager for wine & spirits focused opportunities outside of their account base.
• Responsible for achieving weekly call ratios and performing quarterly reviews.
• Responsible for communicating and executing all programs and promotions developed by the Marketing department within assigned key accounts.
• Responsible for conducting staff training, consumer events, and supplier/sales rep ride withs.
• Ability to achieve monthly KPI objective.
• Assists in tracking on-premise results within the assigned territory and working with Sales and Marketing to develop and plan on-premise tactics.
• Actively reviews the execution of Company sales standards (5 zones within their assigned territory)
• Conducts on-premise audits for the sales team and communicates the results to the Sales Director and District Manager responsible for the assigned territory.
• Acts as an on-premise consultant to all accounts and all levels of Field Sales within the assigned territory.
• Understands profitability and pricing on the on-premise channel and communicates this to sales management.
• Recommend sales programming, promotions, and special events to the District Manager, Sales Director, Director of Wine & Spirits and VP
• Operates withing SLA Guidelines and reports suspicious activity to DDC management.
• Sells and promotes DDC’s full portfolio of products with high focus items to be determined by the Wine & Spirits Director and Sales Director.
People
• Communicates programming and promotional needs to support features and new item introductions to District Manager, Sales Director, and Wine & Spirits Director
• Improve business relationships through entertainment.
• Provides professional customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Build collaborative relationships with all internal customers.
Self-Organization
• Tracks and coordinates response to competitive activity in the market
• Attends all necessary training courses determined to be required by Sales Director and Wine & Spirits Director
• Works independently within a schedule project timeline, managing multiple tasks.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in business management, Marketing or related field required.
• 5 years of wine & spirits sales experience with demonstrated ability to influence a diverse group of retail buyers and senior retail management at headquarter locations.
• Certified WSET Level 1 (Wine & Spirits), CMS Level 1 and/or Certified Wine & Spirits Specialist preferred.
• Cicerone Beer Certification required, or ability to obtain and maintain such certification.
• Strong strategic sales planning capability and Category Management experience both in development and application
• High level of computer proficiency, analytical skills, and ability to develop fact-based selling presentations.

Work Shift Requirements:
• Ability to work additional hours as needed, including nights and weekends.
• Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voice mail or e-mail messages are not acceptable replacements.
• Use and maintenance of company-issued laptop, iPad, and cell phone
Environment & Physical Demands
• Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
• For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify Safety Officer, supervisor, and Human Resources immediately (no later than 1 hour)
• Exposure to temperature shifts between sales floor and cooler environment
• Ability to lift up to 165 lbs. to waist height.
• Able to kneel, squat, bend, lunge, stretch, step-up and rotate body holding 10-40 lbs. of product and/or carry to a tiered shelf repeatedly.
• Ability to stand and walk 6+ hours per day.
• Ability to climb ladders (to hang POS, as required)
