About the Role
Our tasting room is open Friday through Sunday, with initial scheduling of ~12 hours per week. Additional hours may be available for events and seasonal needs.
As part of our hospitality team, you’ll play a key role in sharing our story, increasing wine sales, and growing our Wine Club community.
Responsibilities
• Monitor performance and regularly communicate with direct reports to achieve mutual understanding and desired results.
• Research best practices, stay abreast of industry trends, and maintain awareness of regulatory changes to ensure compliance and continually improve operations.
• In collaboration with the Winemaker/General Manager, conceive, develop and implement innovative and creative guest programs for improving visitor experience and loyalty.
• Manage the guest experience upon arrival, through the flow of all visits and ensure staff scheduling is accurately planned to provide attentive guest service.
• Host experiences and events as needed for both consumer, trade and private events including evenings and weekends.
• Communicates guest, operational, staff and facility-related issues to the General Manager regularly and consistently.
• Handle phone and email inquiries: reservations, voicemails, guest follow-up.
• Manage our social media
• Keep Tasting Room team up to date on procedures, event updates and other pertinent information to aid sales and improve efficiency.
• Develop educational opportunities for staff to ensure wine & industry knowledge is current and appropriate.
• Ensure all Tasting Room team members are appropriately trained and certified as required to meet all relevant regulations pertaining to food handling and alcohol service.
• Manage tasting room appearance to ensure it meets our standards, safety, and maintenance.
• Oversee inventory, stocking of wines, opening and closing for the day.
• Proficient in data software
• Manage POS System including updating, training, and trouble shooting.
Skills & Requirements
• 1–2+ years of wine industry or hospitality experience preferred.
• Wine knowledge required; eagerness to learn more is a must.
• Must be 21 or older and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Friendly, professional, and solutions-oriented attitude.
• Reliable, adaptable, and team-focused.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs (case of wine) and stand for extended periods.
• Pet-friendly: our winery cat will be part of your team.
