Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Charles Krug facility and its equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance in skilled trade areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, mechanical maintenance, and electrical.
May provide journey level support in one or more of the skilled trades and/or routine support in a variety of others.
Required journey level knowledge of methods, tools, codes, procedures and material characteristics.
Skills involve complex troubleshooting, modification, installation, and repair, servicing and similar maintenance operations where detailed knowledge and experience is required.
Requires a well-rounded and experienced knowledge of the practices, tools, equipment and materials used in assigned skill trade areas.
Knowledge of PLC operation and troubleshooting
Understand basic electrical including wiring and troubleshooting
Follow general housekeeping rules including sweeping, machine and, tool cleaning
Ability to read schematics both electrical and machine
Basic welding /fabrication skills
Basic manual mill and lathe experience is helpful
Ability to follow verbal, written and, demonstrated direction
Must be able to speak, read and write English.
Must be able to follow, observe and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
Ability to work off shifts for harvest
Qualifications:
High School Graduate
3-5 years’ experience in a winery environment or similar industry
General knowledge of winery production equipment including presses, de-stemmers, pumps, etc
Completion of an apprenticeship program qualifying for journey level recognition
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, lift, twist, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, carry, grasp, reach and stoop as needed, sometimes for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs.
