About the Winery:
A new and rapidly growing boutique winery in the heart of Texas Hill Country is seeking a talented and experienced General Manager to oversee general operations, tasting room operations, sales, team leadership, and customer experience. Our winery blends European winemaking tradition with rugged domestic character—offering guests a refined, welcoming, and unforgettable tasting experience.
We craft and sell small-batch wines from both domestic and international vineyards, and have built a brand that values experience, quality, and authenticity.
Key Responsibilities:
Tasting Room Management
Oversee day-to-day operations of the tasting room, ensuring a smooth, polished guest experience.
Manage wine tastings, events, and special bookings.
Maintain a clean, professional, and inviting environment.
Team Leadership
Hire, train, and manage a team of tasting room associates.
Foster a strong culture of hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure all team members are well-versed in wine knowledge and guest service.
Sales & Wine Club Growth
Drive onsite wine sales and wine club signups.
Monitor inventory and reorder wine, merchandise, and supplies as needed.
Analyze sales reports and help implement growth strategies.
Event Planning & Marketing Support
Coordinate and host private and public events in the tasting room.
Collaborate on seasonal promotions and marketing initiatives.
Support social media and email marketing efforts where needed.
Regulatory & Financial Compliance
Ensure all TABC, local, and health compliance requirements are met.
Assist in budgeting, cash handling, and POS system management.
Qualifications:
7+ years of experience managing a tasting room, restaurant, or luxury retail operation.
Strong wine knowledge, including service, varietals, and basic winemaking concepts.
Proactive leadership and people management skills.
Sales-driven with a passion for hospitality.
Comfortable using POS, inventory, and CRM tools.
Must be TABC certified (or able to become certified).
Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with Texas wines or Mediterranean varietals.
Direct-to-consumer wine club or e-commerce experience.
Event hosting or wine education background.
