Kuhlman Cellars is a boutique winery in the heart of the Texas Hill Country dedicated to creating high quality wines with unwavering balance and complexity. We are looking for a team member to support us with wine growing and winemaking during the Harvest Season on our award winning estate.
Job Description
The Cellar/Vineyard Team Member is responsible for general winery work in the cellar and in the vineyard. Ideal candidates have experience/knowledge of basic viticulture and/or basic winemaking. The Harvest Intern will be required to work a flexible schedule with some long days and weekend work to be expected.
Essential Duties:
Cellar
• Cleaning and sanitizing winery equipment and the winery
• Racking/pumping of juice and wine; moving hoses and equipment
• Filling, topping, and other barrel work
• Obtaining lab samples
• Operating crusher, press, filter, and other harvest equipment
• Making additions including SO2, nutrients, and inoculations
• Follow and observe all safe cellar practices
Vineyard
• Execute pruning, training, and canopy management
• Manage vineyard floor and Estate grounds
• Assist with irrigation maintenance, as well as the application and removal of bird netting
• Be present for Estate harvests
• Follow and observe all safe vineyard procedures
Job Qualifications
• Must be legally able to work in the United States
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, climb, and withstand physically challenging work for extended periods
• Forklift certification encouraged, but not required.
• Be hands on and have a positive attitude; Teamwork is essential
• Prior experience and wine knowledge is appreciated but not required.
• Communicating effectively with good skills in reading, writing, and basic math.
• Degree in Viticulture/Enology is appreciated but not required

Salary: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
