Job Description:

We, at Peake Ranch believe in making the best wines from Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara county. We focus on Pinot noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Grenache. Detail-oriented, science-driven, and paying homage to the traditional Central coast winemaking style, Peake Ranch is exploring new ways to express the fruits to its highest quality.
Located on Santa Rosa Road between Buellton and Lompoc, we are close to notable restaurants like Industrial Eats, Coastal Range, or SY Kitchen. Drive a little bit further and you can arrive at Bell’s in Los Alamos too. There is also an ostrich farm in Buellton, on the way to the Danish-inspired town, Solvang.

Position: 2023 Harvest Intern (Aug-Nov)

Pay: Depending on experience

Job Description:
•  Cleaning and Sanitation: crush equipment, press, tanks, hoses, etc.
•  Fruit processing and fermentation management: sorting table, punchdown/pumpover, sample retrieval for lab analysis, yeast/acid/nutrient addition, dig out tanks, etc.
•  Wine quality maintenance: topping, sulfur addition, barrel maintenance, etc.
•  Wine movement: racking, transfer, blending
•  Forklift operations
•  Follow safety rules, regulations, and SOPs


Requirements:
•  Lift up to 50lbs
•  Valid driver’s license
•  Must be available to work weekends and overtime
•  Preferred: Previous harvest experience and/or winemaking degree
•  Preferred: Forklift experience
•  Preferred: Fluent in English
