Tasting House Specialist (Wine Educator) - Part time and Temporary positions
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time (PT) and Temporary (Temp) Tasting House Specialist to join the Argyle Hospitality team! Reporting to the Tasting Room Manager, this role is a table service position that is the ambassador for the Argyle story. This position is responsible for educating customers on Argyle wines, many that are available exclusively at the Tasting House. The role welcomes guests and offers guidance on various wine flights and by-the-glass selections, and articulately describes the complexities of each bottling, our Estate Vineyards, wine making processes, wine characteristics and all the nuances in-between while knowledgeably consults guests on to-go wine bottle and case purchases while promoting and securing Club Membership sign-ups and related club incentives benefits. This position includes shifts working events, sales campaigns, virtual tastings and/or additional hospitality positions as needed on site. This role is based in Dundee, Oregon and is a part-time nonexempt? position, working 24 hours/week including all Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, and Fridays as needed, or temporary nonexempt working 16-24 hours/week. This position qualifies for sales incentives, wine club commissions, and tips.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience in tasting room sales or customer service-oriented position
- Passion for knowledge of fine wine and willingness to learn more
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess or be willing to pursue extended wine education through third party certification
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, POS Systems)
- Strong phone skills
- Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours at a time and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Reliable, dependable, professional
- Able to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings and holidays
- Must be able to provide U.S. Work Authorization without current or future sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Perform fine wine hospitality, service & sales to our guests
- Provide accessible, on-the-floor support to daily TH Team
- Monitor and assist with TH Staff’s daily set-up, ongoing and closing duties
- Assist, oversee and model high service standards and attentive service
- Assist with TH opening and closing
- Ensure guest satisfaction through ongoing table touches and monitoring
- Acknowledge all Club Members, strengthen Argyle relationship
- Process customer orders
- Deliver wine orders tableside to guests.
- Build guest advocacy through guest conversion & club membership
- Accurate data entry of new customer information
- Bus tables and follow proper sanitization measures as needed
- Follow proper OLCC protocols
- Assist with Virtual Tastings
- Provide support for on-site events
- Participate in Outbound Calling Campaigns
- Fill in for other Tasting House positions as needed/directed
- Assist with warehouse duties (stacking, counting inventory, organization)
- Consolidate and pack wine orders
- Actively participate in all OneHouse Sessions and Staff meetings
- Execute support role in other winery projects and internal/external sanctioned events
- Contributes positively to team cohesiveness and culture
- Behavior and performance is in line with company standards
- Prioritize safety and report all potential hazards and incidents (Near Misses)
- Adhere to all company policies and direction.
