About Us
Thomas Fogarty Winery is a legacy California wine estate perched high in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Our property encompasses not only a working winery and vineyards, but also multiple residences, private event spaces, roadways, and extensive natural lands requiring year-round care. We are seeking a skilled Estate Property Manager to oversee the maintenance, improvement, and safety of the entire estate, while managing a small operations team.
Role Overview
The Estate Property Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of estate infrastructure, including buildings, grounds, roadways, fire prevention systems, and deferred maintenance projects. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires project management expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a small team (3–4 direct reports). Wine and vineyard knowledge is highly desirable but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Property Oversight & Maintenance
Manage upkeep and repair of winery buildings, residences, and event spaces.
Oversee road maintenance, signage, drainage, and access points.
Implement fire prevention measures and manage defensible space projects.
Project Management
Prioritize and complete deferred maintenance projects in alignment with budget and timelines.
Coordinate contractors, vendors, and suppliers for specialized projects.
Track project progress and report to ownership and management.
Team Leadership
Lead, train, and schedule a maintenance team of 3–4 employees.
Ensure team safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Budget & Procurement
Develop annual property management budgets in coordination with finance.
Source and purchase materials/equipment in line with budget and needs.
KPI Focus Areas
Measurable reduction in deferred maintenance backlog.
On-time and within-budget completion of all scheduled fire prevention work.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in property or facilities management, preferably for large estates, resorts, or agricultural operations.
Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and contractor oversight.
Knowledge of building systems, landscaping, and fire safety best practices.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Familiarity with winery and/or vineyard operations is a strong plus.
Proficient with basic digital tools (email, spreadsheets, project tracking software).
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $95,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
This range reflects the market for full-time, on-site property managers with team oversight in the Santa Cruz Mountains region.
