As a Hospitality Associate, you will play a pivotal role in providing guests with an exceptional and memorable wine tasting experience. You'll be the face of our winery, guiding visitors through tastings, sharing your knowledge of our wines, and creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
Wine Tasting and Education:
- Conduct wine tastings for guests, providing detailed information about the winery's brand and wines.
- Educate guests on the winemaking process, grape varieties, and flavor profiles.
- Effectively communicate the story of our winery, including its history, winemaking philosophy, and unique features like our terroir.
Guest Experience:
- Ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere for visitors to the winery.
- Guide guests through the wine selection process, making recommendations based on preferences.
Sales and Wine Club Memberships:
- Promote wine sales by confidently presenting the benefits and features of our wines, encouraging purchases, and upselling to higher-tier wines or wine club memberships.
Event Hosting:
- Assist in working events at the winery, such as wine release parties or special tastings as needed.
- Ensure events run smoothly and guests have an enjoyable experience.
Winery Retail Operations:
- Set up and prepare tasting stations with appropriate glassware, wines, and educational materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, including restocking wine inventory and ensuring a visually appealing environment.
- Maintain knowledge of current inventory and assist guests in finding specific wines.
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with fellow tasting associates, winery staff, and management to ensure consistent service and a seamless guest experience.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build positive relationships with repeat customers and wine club members.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
- Accurately collect customer data to better serve repeat customers.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations related to wine service and sales.
- Monitor and maintain a safe and clean environment for guests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in hospitality, viticulture, or wine-related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or wine-related roles is desirable.
- Passion for wines, wine production, and wine regions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and guest interactions.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry wine cases, and move around the tasting room.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Details:
This is a seasonal, part-time position with opportunity for rehire. Hours will average between 16-24 hours per week.
